Melanie couldn't even free her arms or her legs. She believed that because she didn't know what Cobra does to humans. "You're the cowardly ape who -" She ground out when her eyes saw his gun and how close to shooting her.
She grunted as she tried to slip the the rope, but it was holding fast. And she couldn't leave or duck or do anything, but stand there, watching him cock his gun! She didn't want to really die. But playing dead would get her free. Wouldn't it?
She screeched. "HELP HELP! ESMERALDA! HELP!" Her pleas were loud and clear, panicked tone.

But Esmeralda was busy herself to notice the screaming human. She had no responsibility to the human as she wasn't hers. She knew her only through Carol. She was grateful for Galen's help. "Thank you- young Gorilla. For your help."
Then she looked over to see Melanie hollering for help and calling her name. "You dare call for help from me?" She asked. "You brought this upon yourself. You make things difficult, this is how things are when you disobey and are defiant."

Galen didn't blame her for not helping the human. It was his. Until she had learned that she was his, he wasn't going to step in. "You want help...you have to call my name. It's Galen."

Maxwell, being ignored, it seemed, found that he could probably slip away. But he didn't. He slowly gained his bearings. Nonetheless, the binds were easy to get out of and standing up, while Silas and everyone else was distracted, gave him an advantage or so he thought. He found a tree limb and picked it up. It was heavy enough - and he wasn't stupid.
He held the limb securely and began to walk towards Silas.
The gorillas were more interested in watching Melanie getting her punishment. It delighted them to see pain? A moment ago, they weren't going to hurt her. Now? It seemed they delighted it. Melanie had started to look a little broken.
"Hey! Fat head- pick on someone your own size! Leave her alone." He swung the limb and hit him squarely on the head.

"Silas! Behind you!" Rowan yelled as he glimpsed Maxwell easing closer.
The gorillas now noticed Maxwell's movement behind Silas and were scrambling forward to stop him. Maxwell wasn't about to let anyone pick on Melanie or Venus it seemed.

Galen spun as a voice rang out. He saw Maxwell easing up towards Silas and hitting him upside the head. The ape was about to blow a gasket. He knew his own human was tied up and on the receiving end of a punishment. He shook his head. "You have a lot of guts human. Stupid, but have guts."

Silas relieved a bullet from the case, soaring over to Melanie, drilling on the right side in the thick bark. He slowly maneuvered it in Melanie's direction, not removing his shady glare. He was going to have it real as it truly could without the violence of shooting the defiant woman. If no one was going to participate in the ruthless act, then he will alone.
"Now, Melanie that was a warning shot. No one is going to save you, not even your precious Esmeralda," he darkly informed, clicking back the gun. "I don't miss unless I tend to," he coldly added. Some might believe this act was going to the extreme, did he care? No. He schemed hard to have Melanie summit.
Being notified by the infuriated Rowan behind him, Silas's ears hastily became alerted and caught the faint noise of the large limb inching near. With speed, he reached out grappling the vast branch, ripping it harshly from Maxwell's weak grasp. He turned, building up his deep scowl.
"You are messing with the wrong ape, especially with him already fumed by your friends' moves," he eerily whispered, grinning with sadistic delight. At this point, he really didn't care. "You're being foolish like that albino bound over there. Perhaps you would be better dressed in a shock collar." Without warning, he struck Maxwell in the side on the smallest end of the tree limb, with less force to ensure he would live, but be implanted by a reminder.

Melanie screamed as she shot above her. She didn't believe he would follow through. She clenched her eyes closed, very tightly. Her ears were ringing with the noise. She didn't want to die by his hand. No one would come to her rescue or save her? Her head fell forward as tears began to fall from her eyes- as if a dam had finally burst. And it seemed not to stop. Her voice was coming out strained, "Go away. Leave me alone."

Maxwell lost his balance a little as the limb was whipped out of his grasp. He truly thought he had a good grip on it. Then he was hit with it, feeling a lot of pain. He yelped as he fell down, but taking a tumble over an exposed tree root. He glared at Silas. "You're not putting one of those awful things on me." Maxwell spoke, but his words were a little slurred.

Venus roughly struggled with the two apes that attempted to hinder in bounds. She could easily hear the commotion inches aware. Listening to Silas threaten the girl. But it wasn't his human, why was he attempting to kill? Venus wasn't aware that he was bending to viciously taunt, and not actually fire. After the harsh slam to Maxwell, Venus nipped the gorilla's fingers that grasped her. The ape released, slightly bleeding with the fresh puncture. She grappled a large stone and launched it over at Silas's neck, near his shoulders. A branch might not do much, but a large stone could do quite the damage.

Rowan knew that the process of accepting was hard. A crying human meant they were almost to the point of being broken. It either was a good sign or something else all together. The human was crying. He didn't believe it was an act. He was focused on the human tied to the tree mostly.
They cry all the time when they have no choice but to submit. It'd be much easier to submit than fight.

Loudly, he snorted, very amused by the defiant human. Was she really starting to beat down to near submission? Perhaps that violence to Maxwell might of just place her into gradual giving in. His eyes examined down at Maxwell. A cold smirk emerged. It was very certain Maxwell would remain on the jungle floor to recover.
"You don't know me too well human, I will apply on you what I desire. Now, you would really fight off an ape beyond double your size?" He snickered, quite appalled. "Just examine what I recently acted at you, yeah, I'd avoid challenging an ape." He growled, looking back at Venus for a moment, then on Melanie.
"Leave you alone? What reveals to you that I shall? Have you not had your eyes peeled open and all the occurrences around you? Pah, you're foolish to believe," a dark chuckled escaped, returning his aim on Melanie. "I won't miss."
Just as he clicked the gun, and this time was not notified from an incoming object like with the tree limb. Venus's harsh stone impaled the nape of Silas. Of course, it would cause a bruise, but not to be unconscious. Gorilla maybe. "Ack!" He grunted, grasping his injured nape.
His bristles spiked up at his slight increase to his dark rage. His eyes surveyed around for the only culprit. Venus, of course, it was the gladiator. "Electrify that mutt!" He hollered, firing his gun. The bullet soared, impaling the other side, near Melanie.

Rowan electrified the human more. Sending direct shocks again into her nervous system.

Maxwell glared at the raging ape and he struggled to get up from his position. He was having a difficult time trying to get his footing. Well, that wasn't a good thing. At all.

Melanie heard the gun go off again as shards of wood flew from near her. She screamed as another bullet embedded closer to her. Then Melanie began to hyperventilate with shock and fear.
-0-
Galen was first to notice that she had started to hyperventilate. "Air! She needs air!" He yelled. "She is hyperventilating."

He heard the sudden shocks into the albino's collar. Good, maybe the human would finally mellow down to obedience, hopefully. That's what Silas wished, anyhow. All the humans he was surrounded with were beyond disobedient.
"Keep that bloody albino on close shocks, on anything! She'll struck again, or escape." His eyes rolled.
For a moment he turned his head, scowling over to Maxwell. "You should be ashamed of yourself, you were raised as an ape, and here you are acting like a destructive, wild animal. I guess you took the choice to return to the wild?" He snorted.
His eyes bounced over to Melanie, observing her reaction. "If I release you, will you obey? If you don't, death row for you," he threatened, then lowered the gun. "We don't play around. If you're useless and don't obey, you're going to be useless to us."

Maxwell didn't care whether or not he was ape raised. "Least my owners don't punish females like you do." He retorted. "At least the other overlords in the village don't punish females either. They do more than in Central City." He was taught to obey the overlords, but if he felt they were being unfair- he'd react negatively. "I'd never strike a girl no matter what species or age."
-0-
Rowan nodded, seemingly stunned at Maxwell's answer. He was protecting the females despite where they may have come from. He had seen it several times when they'd be separating males from females. The males were always protective..towards their women. He had seen it all too often. "What shame you bring to your own village." He mumbled as his mind thought. What would the High Council think of his actions. He gave Venus mild shocks to remind her she wasn't in control.

Melanie was breathing heavily, her defiance was slowly leaving her. She didn't want to give up her humanity. She was glancing around wildly, hoping someone would stop him from hurting her further. No one was stepping forward to free her. No one was- except the one who gave her the most horrid punishment. It wasn't her fault she was defiant. She was just trying to leave like the others. But wanted to help others like her. She was sure that Maxwell would be sent to this so called Tribunal. There were more of them? In power? She hung her head, not bothering to look at him in the eye.
