After Serenity was ordered to return her to the recovery cages, it was a better way to heal instead of being drilled endlessly by Dr Zaius and Maximus, and then Kratos would have his turn. It was prevented when Serenity was ordered to return her to the recovery cages. Allie was refusing to accept any type of sedation, claiming it wasn't necessary. The stress from the council members and court had diminished the moment she was put back into the recovery cages. She felt much a little more relief, resting on a bed. It was much warmer and more comfortable.
What she didn't know was what would happen to her? Would a vet like Serenity take her? After all, she was a compassionate ape. She had much to learn. What about Zephram? Would he take her? Or would that other vet? Allie didn't know whether or not she would be going to any of them! Besides all three of them had better things to do than look after her. She grimaced as her thoughts were tumultuous. She could go over and over all she wanted. She decided not to think about the outcome. It was so easy to.
Pain flitted across her face as she finally decided to try lying on her belly. It sometimes helped and she didn't want to alert a vet or a nurse. She felt like she was annoying everyone and kept it a secret. She was just an annoying thing. It just happened every few hours. She decided to just grin and bear it. After all, she was always bluffing, according to Dr Zaius.

An on-duty nurse went cage to cage, checking all the recovering humans, often giving them food and water. She peered into Allie's recovery cage and opened it. She filled up a large container with water and gave her a fruit salad.
"Hello, human. I bought you something to eat and drink. Are you in any pain? Do you need to go relieve yourself?"
She noticed that Allie was in pain, but the girl seemed stubborn. "If you're in pain, don't be afraid to ask for something for it." She said, walking closer to her and patting her head in an effort to be a comforting ape.

Allie just wanted to be left alone, but the patting was feeling comforting in a way. "Thank you." She said. "It's nothing. Maybe I moved wrong or it was just being dunked into some water." She didn't want to be a huge problem. She already felt like a pain in the bum.
"I don't want to be a pain in the butt to anyone." Allie finally said.

The nurse didn't believe she was a pain in the butt. "Nonsense. If you were, none of the two major vets would be fighting for you." She remarked. "Phoenix is one busy vet and Serenity is a compassionate vet. This office can't afford to have her leave. She saved your life and so did the other vet. You don't remember the second vet in the room helping her? If not for them, you would have died."
"I certainly hope they win." She said, and then noticing. "You're in pain. Let me go see the vet and get you something for your pain."

Allie thought of how many pain killers she would be on and how harmful it could be. "Um...I don't want any painkillers. If it's not all natural and stuff, it could be bad for me." She decided. "I could take a walk around the building."

The nurse looked at her and decided if she walked, she would feel at least less likely to feel enclosed. "Don't leave the building." She informed her. "And don't try to enter into places that have locked doors."
The nurse slid aside to let her walk around. She hoped she wasn't making a mistake by letting her walk.

Allie left the cage slowly and began to walk around, looking around mostly. She was aware of the nursing staff, watching her. She already felt a little less pain and overall it was just one of those things. Walking behind a counter, she saw a strange device. It revealed all types of cages- including the cage she had occupied. She cocked her head curiously and saw nurse apes walking around. They were in color. She saw buttons near the screens and touched one. The screen changed and she panicked slightly. She kept touching the button until the screen was back to the original picture. Then she yelped when she heard a device ringing. No one was in the area and it was a strange looking thing.
She found herself picking it up and it stopped ringing. A voice came through and she slowly drew it up to her ear. "Hello?"
"Hello. Is Vet Serenity there and can I talk to her?" It was male.
She was a little nervous and was about to utter a no, she's not here. "No, she's not here. Can I take a message?"
"Tell her to call her boyfriend when she gets a chance." Then click. She eyed the device suspiciously and went to the nearest ape nurse. "There's a man in this device. I think he's stuck."

The nurse glanced at her and cocked her head. "Show me, little human."
She was sure that the human meant the phone. It wasn't the only station that had a phone. Following Allie, she smiled. "Ah. That's called a phone. It's a machine that makes calls. Did someone call?"

"Yes. He asked for Serenity and I told him she wasn't here right now. He said to have her call her boyfriend when she gets a chance."
She watched the nurse take her message and leave it near the phone.

The nurse smiled as she wrote a message and turned to look at Allie to see what she was doing. She was watching, with much interest.
"Let me show you to places where you're allowed to go. I don't want you to harm yourself, alright?"

Allie didn't want to go anywhere else except a place called home. "I- just want to go back home." She finally said. "I miss my family and my freedom in my village. I'd rather heal in my village than in a cage with a bed and a small table."
Allie missed her home. "I miss my home." She wasn't interested in - staying in a vet's office. It wasn't home. It wasn't even comfortable and warm. She was cold all the time. "And I'm freezing."
