Zaius noted that Maximus had avoided his question on why he was at the Warrens, but why was Zaius too? Perhaps some whispers were coming out that a Renegade was amongst popular places. Maybe he was investigating until he was bumped into. He glanced between Maximus, then Aaron. His head shook. "Maximus we have customs that exceed over decades, why try to avoid it. Why don't you simply reason with him that he has a choice between remaining here or going to the wilds? You can even state what happens when he goes back to the wilds. We give this option to see if the ape-raising was worth it at all," he mentions in his own opinion.

Maximus nodded. "I agree. I'll discuss it with this young ape-raised human." Then he realized he had avoided the question about going to Warrens.
"I'm here because I wanted to see what I can buy for a human pet. There's many options. I never owned one and thought of taking a "human pet' or 'apprentice'." He glanced to Aaron. "But I wasn't sure whether or not I should really offer apprenticeship since-" He trailed off.

Aaron kind of drifted away into the 'maddening crowd'. The two apes were now ignoring him so he thought it was best to leave as quickly as possible. Well, he was an ape-raised human' and thought, he could get away from them both because the conversation didn't really include him anymore, did it---then he paused, hearing the worst of it all. Ape-raising was not worth it? What did that mean? He wasn't about to ask.

Maximus knew what Aaron was thinking of and how he was about to give them the slip. "Now, Aaron. Is that the way things are actually solved? Running away?" Maximus chuckled. "You can choose to continue to live in the city and gain a prospective job." He glanced over to Zaius.
"Now why would you attempt to leave a conversation?"

Aaron paused, knowing that he wasn't through talking to them. "Um...I thought- you were done talking to me?" He looked a little nervous now. "You mean I don't have to - leave the city and become a wild human if I don't want to?" He looked more relieved. "I get to stay and not dress up like a 'pet' and sleeping in a cold metal cage?" Then he grinned a little. "Oh thank you! Thank you! You both are the coolest! Wait until my friends hear about this! I got to meet two of the High Council and aren't as mean as I thought! In fact, they're both pretty fair." Aaron was rambling. "Every ape respects the High Council. Wow! Is Kratos big as you two? Is he busy? Can I say hello to him too?" His excitement was glowing. zaius

Zaius scratched his head, really not expecting such a bizarre compliment. No human dared to ever, ape-raised or dog."Um...thanks?" he lightly shrugged, taking a step back. He smirks. "We're still intimidating frightening to your kind, and I like it that way. If you plan to share that I wasn't, that would be regretful." he sighs, shaking his head once. "You'll only become a bloody mutt if you foolishly return to the wilds, and only to get caught. Once that happens, your permanent chip changes."

Aaron seemed to be thinking about what Zaius said about the details. "You're welcome. I still remain an ape-raised human even if I'm an apprenticed and have just as much rights as an ape does?" He was very interested in learning more. The intimidation factor was to show a 'little dominance' like every other animal. Aaron was observing on his own and making his own observations.
Zaius took a step back and he cocked his head curiously. "Oh no. I wasn't going to share that aspect." He was meaning about his intimidating frightening factor. "To any human. I know less ape-raised humans. I know more young apes around my age. They didn't really mind an ape-raised human around them because the teacher wouldn't allow any of the apes to make fun of ape-raised humans." He felt he was- being informative.
"If some lame-brain excuse, er...ape-raised human- decided to go out into the wilds and get themselves caught, that's their fault because they weren't brought up right." He hoped he wasn't sounding like an idiot. "It'd be a waste of resources and education." Now he was showing signs of being more relaxed and at ease with Zaius and Maximus.

Maximus was surprised that Aaron wasn't totally out of his element. It surprised him because the human was very astute in his observations. He didn't realize that Aaron was developing a form of trust to the two of them, his guardian, and his ape friends. He sensed that this human didn't want to show them fear or intimidation. His keened ears listened to Aaron explain how wasted resources and education would be wasted if an ape-raised human decided to go out into the wilds. He had an understanding he believed. What surprised him the most was how he 'compared' other ape-raised humans who made the wrong choices lame-brained. "Now, you wouldn't be calling yourself lame-brained would you since you're ape-raised yourself?" He glanced over to his friend. "I think I'll take on Aaron as an apprentice. Unless, you'd like the opportunity, zaius."

Teacher? Oh yes, that one school teacher that voluntarily teaches both humans and apes at a young age. Zaius believed they should be separated, despite their title. How would apes learn the aspects of certain things with humans, while ape-raised had to learn completely distinctive topics? Though, he really didn't enforce it like Kratos might to morph it to his liking. He might suggest it. "That I agree with, Aaron. Though, sometimes your species do the dumbest things." He barely let out a small snicker. "I hope you're not, Aaron. Never compare yourself to them." He scratches his head, sighing. "Why not?"

"I won't. I'm sure I've done dumb things when I was a child. But as an adult and ape-raised, I feel better knowing I have a better chance at life than facing the wilds and what lies out there."
He shifted his gaze to Zaius, thoughtfully. "I don't see why I can't learn from both of you. The more knowledge I gain, the more I can please apes- including Zeke." He wasn't sure if he was right or wrong. Learning was a good thing? Wasn't it? If he kept learning then he'd gain a perspective. "Is it unheard of? To have two high ranking apes to have the same apprentice?" He asked.

Zaius partly smiles, darkly he watches Aaron. He places a hand on his shoulder. "I'm very pleased you learned so well, Aaron. I wish those savages would just simply bow down, and become what their role it. But no, they fight it, constantly. WHy? I'm not sure." he sighs, bringing his hand back. "Both?" he peers over to Maximus, as he wasn't aware of this. "Maximus? Did you want to be his apprentice too? Or, no?" He furrows his brows peering down at Aaron. "It's not common," he mutters.

Aaron looked between the two apes. Pick and choose one ape to be an apprentice under? They're both pretty good. And he was a very good apprentice. He thought about Maximus and then Zaius. Here were two good apes from the council. "Maybe I should pick Councilmember Zaius." He finally spoke. Was it his choice or no? He wasn't sure.

Maximus thought. "I was thinking about apprenticing him out, but I don't think he would really fit in. Then again, I've been thinking of purchasing a human pet to train for their role." He admitted. This young ape-raised human was also smart. "I really think he'd benefit from you more than me."

Zaius was appalled, even though he had dark rumors running around for him, the human picked him. What? That was a stunner. He didn't object as he did offer. His head dipped, "I'm honored," he places his palm on his chest. "You may decide to switch if you'd like," he kindly offers again. purchasing a human? Oh, that's going to interesting. He places his fingers over the head of the cane. "Do you have time, Maximus?"

Aaron thought hard for a moment. There have been dark rumors surrounding Zaius. But he did need someone to help him out on matters. An older ape could always use a youthful human apprentice. He could even help him with decisions, if he'll let him. Zeke would be proud of him. "I'm certain," he finally spoke. "I'm certain that some ape-raised humans never really been apprenticed by a council member because they don't -" He didn't want to sound like a jerk. Especially when it comes to ape-raised humans. "Because they don't really know how to, oh, approach a council member without 'fear' or 'believing that they are unreachable'."
He wasn't sure whether he feared them or revered them with the utmost respect and decency.

Zaius peers over to Maximus, who hasn't responded as of yet. He'd wouldn't mind having to teach Aaron, which was very appalling. This cruel elder despised humans to the core. Sadistically wanted to end them, yet wants to take advantage of them. Even, agreeing with Kratos on the new law? Now, who would have discussed that? "Maximus, did you want to help be a guardian too? I don't mind switching off, we are mostly busy."
