Aurora was already away from Caesar's domain, and into the wicked depths of the lively jungle. She had planned this specific trip for herself for numerous months. Now, she had Andrew willingly to come. She only hoped he was skilled in defending his own life-literally. The path to the desired location was very lethal. Especially when the nearby ruins are homes to slumbering large cats.
A soft trot Aurora had gently commanded the large, brown mare she rode on. She expected Andrew very close or surveying the area for common danger. They had already killed a few dangerous creatures between the jungle floor and the sturdy, vine branches. Not once was her view on one location for more than ten seconds.
She peered over her shoulder, curiously to see where Andrew had gone. "Andrew," she whispers, continuing to look begin, then hastily whips ahead. "We're getting close. Especially when you see no wildlife but a few birds."

Andrew followed on his brown stud, looking warily around in case there were any ligers and snakes. They had already taken care of some animals and snakes along the way. His gun rested in front of him, one hand on his stud's reigns and the other on his gun. His eyes missed nothing and he noted every moving creature, insect, and knew that if he took his gaze away for even a second, it'd be his last moments before something dreadful happened.
He nodded to her, when she turned. "and insects." He whispered back to her. They were getting closer now and he had yet to find something for Jennifer. Maybe he'd collect a stone or a piece from old city ruins.

Aurora eased her horse into a very sluggish stop. She'd avoid any sounds if possible, though, couldn't help if the heavy hooves crackle the dead limbs beneath. She was a skilled hunter. Known to be agile, quiet, and swift. But she had her downfalls to her skills as well. She wasn't the best hunter out of the Renegades. She fails at times to keep her feet quiet.
She dismounts, keeping vigilant eyes around the eerily silent area. Quietly her feet planted on the small patch of dirt. Luckily there was no folaige in the way. Slipping through the plant-infested jungle was complicated enough. She brought out her dangerous gun.
Figuring Andrew was going to use his own tactic to enter the tall, crackling ruins, Aurora proceeded. However, she did not go too far with a chance to get attacked. So far no cat in sight. Good. She steps onto the first step, then hikes them up quietly.
Once on top, she'd wait for Andrew to come with. The only sound that was near, was raindrops echoing inside the ruins. It was a reminiscence of rain pouring through the narrow holes throughout the old structure.

Andrew slowed his horse, as some droplets fell onto his face. He brushed them off as he stopped his horse near hers. He surveyed the area before dismounting from his horse and slowly planted his feet. No pop of any sticks or leaves. Quietly, he eased his gun out from the holster and crept up the ruins' stairs.
The rain began to come a little harder which meant that either the ligers were out of the rain and hopefully they wouldn't run into them. Then they'd have to kill them. His ears finally caught the croak of a frog or a toad. He wondered if it was one of those poison toads.
He smiled a little towards Aurora.

Aurora lightly smiles back, stepping a few paces back to have him join on the same step. After, she brought out her gun, venturing inside the crumbling ruins. Her eyes bouncing around the silent area but for light raindrops. Assuming Andrew was watching her six, she protected ahead of time.
There was no sign of any large cats, not even sheddings. She furrows her brows, confusion surfacing. That was extraordinary odd. Where were they? Not even bones.
Sharing her puzzled interest, she eases to a stop. She peers over her shoulder, "Andrew, there's no sign of any life in here. I know for a solid fact that large cats make homes in here. I visited this area a few weeks ago," she informs, continuing to walk through the eerily quiet ruins.
"I wonder if we're not the only ones in here," she muffles in concern.

Andrew was sharing the same concern as well. There were reports of the cats that made their homes in here. "This is most unusual." He remarked as he looked around. There were no signs of any humans either. "Do you think they moved to another part of the jungle? Or have they- become extinct all of a sudden."
Suddenly, he heard something and cocked his gun. "Did you hear that?"
He was guarding her six- and swinging behind him. There had to be some reason why the ligers weren't here.

Aurora shook her head heavily, believing to be remarkably odd. "No, no, not that swift. Unless something freighted them away? Like greater cats?" She smirks, peering over. "Oh come on? These cats are the masters of the jungle, nothing would startle," she froze in place, then converted.
Their answer was in front of them. A band of apes, a few hauling the freshly murdered ligers. Another having their kits in a box. It would not take long before they'd identify the two humans, along with their scent. Three out of the six steered their already-set rifles at the humans.
"hold it!" One orders, leisurely approaching. His deep, threatening scowl bounces between the two.
The other taunts the two, producing his deadly weapon closer. "What do we have here? Two human hunters?" he circulates around them. Then uses the peak of his gun to fiddle with Andrew's hair. "Oh, tsk, tsk, they both inherit the rare collars," he steps back, glancing over at the others.
The female with the box of kits places them down by her feet. "Just kill them," the gorilla growls. "we don't need any witnesses."

Andrew was about to answer when he saw what was a group of ligers and kits. What would they do to those kits? He didn't know. He felt bad for them if they were alive. Then a hunter came over and looked under his hair with his gun. "Rare collars?" He didn't know or understand what that meant. And he certainly didn't want to discuss what he did for a living. Not with these two. How would they ever escape them. This was uncomfortable.
"No." A voice cut in, steely and sharp. "If they have rare colors, then these two are rare! Unique. We can get a lot of money for rare humans wearing rare collars." A hunter walked out, carrying a kit by it's tail and had a muzzle on it's face. "We should actually take them instead of killing them."
Andrew didn't like the sound of that. But if he fired, that would be a bad idea because they had their weapons pointed at them.

Aurora remained still, observing them with a keen eye. What in the world were they doing in here? Why would they care about ligers, even kits? Are they poachers? They seem to want to conceal what they're doing. They're humans! Lower than apes!
Human hunters? More like Renegades that defend from the likes of you. She intently wanted to question, but probably would get harshly whacked in the face. They seem the group that doesn't mess around and will act harshly.
The one that was taunting comes closer again, jabbing the rifle into each of their shoulder's "Drop your guns, now," he orders, very harshly.
Aurora released it. There was six, there was no way they could take them on. COuld they? Very narrow chance.
The only chimp, with glasses, places down a gold artifact, then strolls over. He sways each of their hair strands to examine the collars. "Ah, ah, these collars were crafted anciently by the Overlord King, Rothgar. His work was wanted, and is rare around these times," he mentions, stepping back.
He grabs each of their chins, drawing them close. "Tell me, where did you get those?"
Collars? These thin, close-neck accessory, are collars?! She gulped in his presence. "A, a family heirloom," she stutters.
"And you?" He shoves Aurora back and looks at Maxwell.
The female gorilla rolls her eyes, then peers over to the ape that denied to kill. "Ah, come on. We can kill and steal their collars, is it that hard?" She observes the kit. "Harsh? Did it attack you?"

Andrew found himself dropping his gun to the ground. He didn't notice that his collar- an heirloom would also be considered rare. "I- I got mine when I turned 15...It's a family heirloom."
"No. It is. These two humans may have been once pets of the Overlord King Rothgar! It would be bad luck to kill them. No."
Andrew swallowed. "We were just out here to look at the ruins. That's all. Nothing more. Nothing less. We were armed because of the ligers." He didn't really tell much more about what they were doing out there. "We were expecting ligers more than apes." He said, hoping that they would see that he was truthful. "We didn't know there were hunters out here." Why kill them when they were out on a peaceful mission of exploring the ruins? No one sent them.

"Heirlooms?" The wise chimp mutters, peering back over to the leader who wanted to keep them alive. "That king perished long, long, time ago. Perhaps these two are the descendants of his pets? Because, clearly they possess his higher ranking pets," he mentions, examing Andrew's antique collar.
"I was told that when he was murdered his pets perished in the fire from his domain. But perhaps a few got out?" he suggests, thumbing the lock on Andrew's jeweled collar. "What a shame, we don't have the keys to release them," he drops the lock, reversing. "But I'm sure we have a device to remove it."
The gorilla that poked them, examined them very thoroughly. "Wait, wait there wearing Renegade clothing. What? And they have those collars?"
The chimp glances over. "So they might have migrated into the horrendous side."
Aurora joined to defend Andrew, "wait, really we came out to only explore," she answers.
The female gorilla snorts, spitting at the two. "you Renegades disgust me. Preventing most of our work, even killing our own branch. Pah! You lie of being here," She aims her gun at the two. "I don't want any more of your lies slipping. Unless you have a true reason here."

"We're not lying. We are exploring the ruins and we both had our reasons. Mine, was purely to find an artifact or memento for a 13 year old child." They were probably not going to live long and this female ape was worrying him. "Clearly not lying. We weren't even sent here." He shook his head in surprise. They were clearly Overlords and they weren't lying.
"It's evident, none of you believe us anyway." He spoke, as the rain began to pick up again.
Andrew wasn't about to tell him about his past. "I work in herbal medicine. I cure the sick. I'm not a hunter, but I don't see why I can't be armed against the dangers in this jungle."

Two apes that were threatening them peers at each other, then back at Andrew. All three grasps their bellies' then spurted out in loud, stomach-hurting laughter. They couldn't believe what poor excuse that was true, was so out of the blue.
One decided to have fun with it. "Wh-where, you trying to, uh," he pauses between each obnoxious chuckles. "getting little crystal shard for your brother?!" his loud chuckles elevated.
The other one was hunched, tapping his shoulder. "no, no it was ruby eyes for his mother!" another teased.
Their laughter was swiftly halted with the stiff female stomped her foot, annoyingly hollering at them. "That is enough! Clearly, they are lying." she snorts, swaying her gun. "Just bound them, we were ordered to take them, so do it!" she stomped her boot again.
The other two coughed, then obeyed the scary gorilla. Never tick a gorilla off.
After, a few snickers escaped. In fact, one of them couldn't help but continue.
"A medic? What are you the shaman of the Renegades?" He flings his head back, laughing. Of course the other one snickers.

Andrew looked over to Aurora. She had been silent and his truthful responses were just jokes. "No you dimwits! I take care of the sick humans who finds their way into my house to get cured. You wouldn't understand anything because you all believe it's a joke." Then he said, "A human child, you numbskull."
Then the head ape spoke up, "Stop!" He ordered briskly. "What human child? There are few and far between."
"It's true. There are children. It's just they're rare as red heads." He said, despite getting bound. "Who wants us?"
He wasn't sure what to do except tell more truthful responses. "The girl asked me to pick her up a memento while on my trip out here."
