NAME: Finn AGE: 14 PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lap Dog or Show Pet PREVIOUS FUNCTION: N/A SPECIAL ATTRIBUTES: Wild but trainable, easygoing and easy to please, energetic
Finn was tired.
Tired of this cage, tired of being confused, and moreover tired of being told that he had to be a pet now. Something about working out the sale of human kids, what kind of bullpoopp? Honestly though, he might just be OK with it just to get out of here.
He really wanted out.
Being from the wilderness, he didn’t get amenities like Kramer did. He was just thrown in with some vacant looking humans and put up for sale like the rest. This time they added options a simple lap dog, or a show human. He didn’t want to be either. But he was starving, thirsty, and had shredded clothes by now.
Anything had to be better, right? “This sucks,” he groaned quietly. “When do I finally get a decent meal in this dump?”

Silas was pretty vexed at that cheating ape, Gladiator. Uses the President's account, how preposterous, and weak. He would despise that chimp for awhile. No matter, he can just continue searching the rows and rows of clear cages. He wouldn't take his harsh annoyance on the next human. He's really skilled at balancing his emotions and temper.
With curled fingers, gritted teeth, Silas was marching down the isles not really focusing on the humans. A few of them caught his dark glance, but by the time he'd wanted just one, it was taken. Of course, the cute, pretty ones are taken first. That's why he's normally sneaking around the Black Market to get better humans at times, to secret items.
Then a young child sitting lonely in the transparent cage, directed his eyes over. Silas unfurled his fingers, confusingly staring down at the boy. Why was he there? Isn't that against the rules, or have they shifted? That pestering President always bends what he wants to be done, even if it affects others. Pah, these humans don't have a chance here. What's next, ridding raising young children?
Quietly he walks up to the cage. He sways his head around, noting there was no handler. Especially no sign of that annoyance. He sighs, returning a softer stare at him. "When you're out," he unexpectantly answers for Finn. "Say, what are you doing in there? You seem a little too young?"

Oh god an orangutan.
He swallowed slightly. His eyes barely meeting upwards to look at him and seemingly moving a little further back. He didn’t know if he wanted to answer that, but the ape handler did for him. ”New rules for the President. Taking select human children to assess functionality of keeping puppies,” he noted. “He’s beautiful, blonde hair, blue eyes. We found him in the wild and his docile nature made him a perfect candidate for the show circuits. Or a lap dog to show off.”
Finn didn’t look too happy about the idea, his eyes looking up at the orangutan. “I didn’t like the idea. But I do want out of here,” he admitted with a slight shakiness to his voice. “My sister is a lap dog and she and her owner come through often. He seems to treat her well.” He admitted.
Then with a shakiness he added. “I’m not going to fight. I’ve already submitted - just don’t put me in fights.” He pleaded a little.

Silas didn't mean to startle the young human. Young pups were so adorable, even the younger ones below the age of being considered an adult. He could easily understand the young freight in the child, his height and brawny body would be a fictional monster in sight.
New rules? Pah! Silas knew it. That President once again shifted more rules and laws to his wants. One day, just one the citizens are not going to like it. It only takes time for people to gradually go against. Silas wasn't that too concerned, just annoyed.
A soft smile crossed his face. Silas rolled his eyes, turning his head away to display a hidden, arrogant grimace. He didn't need trouble with a simple handler. Once relieved, he glanced back over. "Isn't that a little harsh, and going against the 18 years old rule?"
"I can see that. They go by too swiftly, even if you arrive early. It's like the apes know the stock," he snorts. Before another ape would show, he'd tried to claim first. "I want him, even if it's a new rule," he reluctantly states. "I lost a good human before to an annoyance." he carefully ranted.
Then he peered over to Finn. He smiles, "why would you go to the rings? You're more docile than a bunny."

The handler shrugged. ”They’re only getting dumber right? Plus you wouldn’t want one unless you thought they were cute enough,” The handler opened the cage to gently retrieve Finn with one arm. The boy didn’t struggle. ”It’s ok though. Pretty soon it’ll just be a normal fact of life. They know they’re popular.” he noted as he handed Finn over like a small animal which he may as well have been given it was two orangutans.
Finn was silent for most of this exchange. He had to admit though he did like the disposition of the ape so far. So he calmly tried to add something that might get him out of this. “Or - if you think it’s wrong you can set me free,” he tried with a truly bubbly way. “I don’t need to be here at all.”
”How naive the young are,” the handler snorted. ”I believe a firm 1000 will suffice given the specialty nature and his most elegant hair and blue eyes.” he noted.

As if Silas wasn't annoyed by Gladiator, he'd appeared. The President was on the lookout for a young human as he enlisted the rule in the first place. Kratos felt like a fool to throw his young son/pet over to the cages. He honestly regrets it, but darkly he was glad. These humans should not be raised at all.
Once the handler announced a grand, and before Silas would agree, he rose a finger. "I bid two grand!" he hollered out to try to get Silas to back down once again. As he strolled over, he smiled with pleasure. "Nice to see you again. Oh, that little redhead is doing just fine."
He stops, examining the young human. "Wouldn't this child be better under the care of our wonderful President? Not under the rule of a ruthless Gladiator trainer?" he sluggishly snorts, turning his eyes on the handler. "I'm sure you would agree?"

This handler acted more snobbish and uptight a little too much like that annoying royal counselor. Who would pick a chimp and not his own kind? So weird. That thought didn't stay long. The child in front of him seemed nicer to look at instead of the snobbish apes around.
Silas gently grasped Finn by the arm, gently luring him closer. He furrows his brows, then rose one. "Dumber?" he snorts, "say that to the wildest humans in that deadly jungle." He hears the steep number for a child. He tried to lower it, "Isn't that a little steep? I know I've had to try others."
"They're young because-" His voice was severed off. He knew that annoying tone anywhere. His ears lowered, firing a common glare over at Gladiator. "Oh look it's the President's dog, always right by his side to listening to his every demand," he grins, leaning over, "you are no different than a human."
Silas snorted at Gladiator's suggestion. "That child would fall into a depression if under your President's rule." His handwaved. "Are you here to use the President's bank account, or have you gain enough mind to use your own, coward," he whispers.
His hand shot up, "Three grand."

Finn hated to admit it. But the moment he was pulled close he burried himself in the damn orangutan’s fur.
Just thankful to be out of there even if it meant that yes, he was about to be sold off. He just wanted away from this awful place. ”Ah, but you want this stunning young puppy and you know it,” the handler noted calmly, watching as Finn interacted. ”Think of the jealousy such humans...”
Well then, Gladiator.
He turned his head and smiled a wide grin at him. ”You said two thousand?” he asked rather giddy. ”I think we need to rethink...”
Finn got closer when the orangutan who had thus far been kind to him bid 3000. Maybe just to spite the other, but frankly he felt like he was better off with this one for some odd reason. ”I’m sorry, Gladiator. But that is too high a bid to deny,” he noted. ”I’d let you continue to hash it out but he has a fair point. You are using the king’s funds. No doubt he can have whichever puppy he desires.”
Finn relaxed a bit. Though now he felt ok enough to at least attempt to maneuver from Silas’ side. Hoping he wouldn’t be dragged along or the like. ”Ah watch it you! When this transaction is done you belong to him,” the handler growled. ”Just because you’re from the wilds don’t think I don’t know your tricks.”
“If I could get home from here, I’d be there now,” Finn noted softly. “Rather than being bartered along by two apes as the cute little plaything.” He rubbed his eyes a bit.
The handler watched Gladiator for that matter - wondering if he’d try to counter him and call his bluff. He doubted it but he also now knew he could make bank on this child and intended to do so.

Well, Gladiator did not expect that harsh name call. Low as a human? That's diabolical. Even insane in the mind. Humans are meant to serve apes in their designed roles. This large orangutan was very foolish, especially with his backlash of words.
"Excuse me? The President's dog? Are you blind fool? Humans are low and claimed as dogs! Not apes. If you are implying I am one, then you're calling all our kind," he harshly states, taking a step back. His nose slightly elevated in the air. "I'm more considered as a severe aid to the President, not some lowly animal," he mentions defensively.
"You're already crossing the line you crazy imp. Already implying stupid suggestion regarding the child under our beloved President. Which is yours since you're in our country. Going by our laws and rules. And now your talking trash to his royal counselor, even him!" he called out, "Thirty five hundred!" He smirked. "That's none of your concern."

The handler was very correct, Silas wanted the pup. The more he stared at Finn, the more those darling eyes called to him. Dam, that ape was using clever tactics to have Silas take him. Even for a ridiculous price.
"Jealousy? Now why would I want to make others jealous? Wouldn't doing something like that cause unwanted apes to be interested?" he quietly implies, taking a swift look around.
Hash it out? Silas didn't want to go harsh on Gladiator again, even if he was an irritating plumped mole. Gladiator was always not fair.
"King or President I will fight you on this one, even in the Black Market, you and Kratos do not freighten me," he boldly states. "I'm sure this won't be our last encounter either."
For a swift second, Silas glared at the harsh actions from the ape. "Hey now, he's not an adult and has time to grow. No need to be cold."
Silas snickered, provoking like Gladiator was doing. "That would be a dog.." he whispers. "Humans do his bidding I'm sure.."
He folds his arms, rolling his eyes. "My bad, a protective hound." He takes a few paces closer. "I've told you once and now again. You don't intimidate me, you always fail. Trash? What are you going to do, turn me in? I'm sure I'm not the only one." He leans closer, examining his size. "You can't even survive the jungles alone," He grins.
He took a small moment to look at the handler, who was likely enjoying it. "Four grand."

The handler watched with a chuckle of amusement.
Finn just watched very nervously - what was going to happen to him. He could tell both wanted him a lot, making him a hot commodity. He listened to the further bartering closely. But finally, after several minutes and a bid of four thousand. The handler held a hand up.
”Four thousand is the top bid I’m allowed to accept. Sorry, Gladiator. It seems the puppy goes with Silas,” he noted wryly he was going to enjoy this payday. ”Did you want me to put a tracker in him? I doubt he’d run but honestly you never know. This isn’t exactly normal.”
Finn took a step back. “A tracker? Why do you need to put a tracker in me?” He asked nervously. “Aren’t those collars enough? Besides where the hell would I go?”

It wasn't the first time that a handler was finding their useless lashing amusing, even drawing local buyers close. It was all a circus to others. How silly of the two to fight over a human. People probably thought they were close to humans in their behavior.
Allowed to accept that much? Must be a new rule that President must have secretly implied, once again. This time, he wasn't complaining, it was in his favor, greatly. Finally outbid that haughty ape, being fair too. There was so much Silas could bid until he was forced to.
Of course, that greedy ape would apply such a suggestion. Silas rose his hand, shaking his head. "No, no, that's not needed. A secured collar with solid material will do." He smirks, peering down at the frightened, small boy. "I've dealt with countless wild humans to escape artists from their training. I'm sure I can handle the little one," he assures the handler.
He figured the handler wanted to retrieve more money. No, he has spent enough. "Please, go get the papers so I can sign for the breed of human," he calmly instructs.
His palms gently held Finn in place, responding, "you would be stunned little pup when you run off."

Gladiator listens to Silas tiringly lash out a few more. It wasn't until he mentions the secret dealings. A vicious scowl penetrated over to Silas. "You fool, you shouldn't even mention such secrecy. You should go back where you came from before you tried with treason," he snorts. Maybe he can get Silas to expel more to force the child pet from him.
"No one outbids the President, it won't be a beautiful outcome for you," he strictly tells, from numerous experiences. Would that stop this strong defiant ape who clearly despises Kratos? Most likely not. Sometimes the council backs down. maybe he should try one day. Just to see the results.
Of course, the highest bid. He grimaced, he failed, who implied this? "Hey, come on I'll give you six," he says, though was highly nervous to honestly spend that much. Kratos would be fried him. "You know you want the cash."
"I'm no dog," he whispers darkly to Silas. "That handler has every right to treat him how he wants."

The handler heard the shouts but ignored Gladiator.
Instead he was calm to get the paperwork, smirking a little and happy with himself as Finn turned to his new master as he held him close. He was nervous to go with either ape to be a pet - but at least this one seemed like the type who’d treat him well.
He decided to make sure of that he’d butter him up a little.
He’d seen the humans make a gesture to be picked up. And carefully did so. Not really feeling safe from being snatched. ”Alright his papers are all here. I need you to sign for him,” he stated before turning towards Gladiator. ”I might need the money but not enough to let a puppy go off with you.” he snorted. ”As for collars we’ve just gotten our first stock of collars for the young. I have bright blue, yellow, and green. Since you won’t find them elsewhere yet. For the steep price I’ll even throw in a tag. Do you plan to keep the name Finn?”
Finn was Silent a moment. “Why do I need a collar and a tag?” He questioned.

Silas rolls his eyes, this ape acted more like a dog as time moved on. BArking, defending, and especially doing his 'masters' bidding. He was about to call him a hound once again, but that will only have the chimp 'bark' further. He decided to evade the entire topic like the handler next to him did.
He rose a palm to Gladiator. "Enough, you're interrupting a purchasing process," he calmly tells to the ape servant. He didn't feel like arguing pointless name calls or arguments. It surely sounded like two apes losing a hefty bet, without the physical violence.
Silas glimpses down at the adorable action that Finn was trying to do. It was a little lacking, but it was obviously his first time to an ape? He warmly smiles, gently grabbing his side, and placed him on his bulky shoulders. He still felt it was wrong, but had no true voice against the 'King'.
He pats Finn's small head until the handler had returned. Need money right this moment? Not a problem. He walks closer to the happy ape, retrieving a special card out, the place it on the table. "The funds are in there," he honestly confirms to him, keeping a wary eye out from others around. He was known to have quite the amount of money, due to his bets.
Change his name? This was his first pet, not taken, and had the chance to change and keep. That even didn't enter his mind. "Uhh, well," he stammers, tapping the table. He peers over at Finn, not really wanting to question. "Eh, I guess.." he didn't want to name him after the part of a fish. Poor child. "How about...Ace?" he randomly says, stuttering lightly.
