"Now if you behave like a normal 'ape-raised' human instead of a wild human, you'd be treated a whole lot better." He shook his head. "I didn't have to buy you. I could have just left you in that cage and forget you ever existed." Titus crossed his arms.
There was no reason why he couldn't eat the real food and not some light meal.
Melinda may have taken the dish, but the meal was held in her hands.

Damien was a little flustered.
First of all, he was a wild human and hadn’t been raised by apes. But most of all he didn’t know what he wanted out of him. Moreover he didn’t want to be in that cage either. “I’m sorry, really I actually am because you’re probably right,” he added. Before looking down at the meal in her hands.
Oh god, he thought was this another test?
He really didn’t want to do it. He just wanted to go home. “Ugh, I am a wild human by the way,” he then added. “But this is just wrong.” He added with a slight squint.
After a moment, he leaned forward, no longer able to take it. He just took the damn bite. He chewed slowly and looked back at the ape. “Now what did you really want to call me?” He asked. Trying not to vomit.

Titus didn't believe so. He needed to get him to understand. "Since you are a wild human, you have no rights in Ape City. You are not an ape-raised human. Had you been born or found on a raid, you would have been taken directly to the orphanage to be raised by an ape family." Titus finally explained. "What do I need you for? Well, simply because it's way too quiet in this large house. A pet will make this place a lot brighter and a happier place." He took a bite of his own meal and nodded to Melinda.
She planted the plate on the table, taking the meager sandwich. But leaving the water.
"You have much to learn about being a pet and falling into your role. If you think I'm awful, you don't know gorillas." Then he added, "No name change."

Damien shook his head a bit.
This was just degrading, but at least he didn’t have to keep eating it from her hand. He began to gobble upon the sandwich very quickly before turning to him. “What else is there to learn? How to sit in a lap a long mite?” He then added. “To eat like... That?” He shuddered.
He then added. “You may as well just give me some actual rules to go by so I know what I’m doing.”

Titus had a dozen or so rules but to give it to him would be confining and restricting. The first rule he should introduce to this human was, "Do as you are told by whether my maids or myself. No leaving your bedroom after 8:30 PM. Only exceptions are if you're sick, have to go to the bathroom, or are in need of something. No attempting to escape from the manor. And when I request you, you come to me. When I tell you to sit in my lap, you sit in my lap. If you act up, I will take you to the basement, to the cage in there. Despite your fears of the dark, or being frightened."
Melinda put the plate down and walked away.

Well that all seemed... Harsh.
Though he guessed he should have expected it at this point. What else could a lap dog do except be exactly that? A lap dog. He looked at the ape rather quietly as he continued to eat quietly. “And I have to do it every time? Even if I’m tired or there are girls around?” He asked. “I mean I’ve heard worse rules for stuff - but...” he paused. “Whatever. You win I’ll do it.”
He then added. “But I’m not changing my personality, this is me. I’m sarcastic, goofy, and like making quips,” he said rather bluntly - then added. “But I don’t seem to have it half bad here all things considered so I won’t aim it at you... Most of the time.”

"No. Not all the time. Only when called." Titus shook his head as the human seemed to think he'd be needed all the time. He'd have things to do without him being present. There were such times that he would have to do meetings without the presence of a human. Even as well as leaving the manor, leaving Melinda in charge of him. Titus was smart enough to know that not every day, he needed to be a lap dog. It would be more like having a boy in the house- to brighten and make things more smooth.
He finished eating his meal. The Carlyle meeting was at 1 PM. So that meant that he only had some time before the meeting began. This would be a discussion about the newest train named Carlyle. "Well, finish your meal." He ordered, sitting up and leaving the table. "Melinda. See that he is cared for in my absence."
It would be the first time he'd leave for his office to ready for his meeting.
Melinda nodded.
