Luca had agreed to take on Morgan. As Jennifer and a few recent events that have been under investigation had caused Caesar to be extra occupied. Luca could view the great, determine potential that Morgan possessed deep within him.
Luca brought the child over to his home within the tall jungle trees. Thank goodness he's able to climb trees without his layers of filth getting in the way. It was quite late. Luca opened the door for Morgan. "Before you go too far, at least remove your shoes."

Morgan was a little nervous.
He hadn’t expected any of this to happen and now he was living with this gorilla. For his part, Luca seemed nice, very nice. But he also hadn’t had a guardian or parent before. He hoped Luca didn’t feel inconvenienced any. “Thank you again... Er for back there,” he said as he carefully removed his shoes. “I know I’m not much to look at right now. But I’ll make myself useful.” He added knowing he was caked in dirt and his clothes weren’t so fees either.
As he entered, he set his unloaded rifle to the side. Looking around, he took a deep breath. “You have a nice house.” He stated politely. Since he was a guest here for now. “Thanks for sharing it with me. I haven’t Uh... I haven’t even had a roof to sleep under since I lost my folks.”

Luca lightly reverses allowing him some room to remove his shoes with ease. Luca too removes and places his shoes in a bin on the side. "Place them here," his hand sways to the bin, after kindly instructing.
He looks over his back. "I'd have you remove your clothes, but you're not related." he faintly chuckles at the innocent joke. He nods, responding, "of course. Lord Caesar is busy with other matters, so, I don't mind." He smiles, already predicting the potential. "I know." The first thing he does is enters the kitchen. "Thank you. I try my best to keep it clean, especially with the dirt and mud around." His head pokes out. "I wasn't aware of your parent's death. I am sorry." He sighs. "The bathroom is down the hall on your first left, you're welcome to use it.."

Once he’d put them in the bin, he turned with a nod to Luca.
Morgan only gave a nervous chuckle at his response about not taking off his clothes. Good point, and he didn’t want to either - so he wasn’t going to argue about that. When he brought up his parents though, he did frown - even if he had said it.
“That’s how I ended up in The Promised Land. My whole village was slaughtered. No survivors but me,” he admitted with a lump in his throat. “My dad said it was his fault since he sided with Caesar... I was just lucky.”
He shook himself out of his thoughts when Luca mentioned the bathroom. Oh lord he hadn’t had one in a long time. “Thanks! I’ll uh. Get myself clean so I’m not tracking my dirt everywhere. Be right back.”
He didn’t really give Luca a chance to reply. Instead he got inside and immediately used the opportunity to bathe. It honestly felt so good just to let the mud run off of him, and there was a lot, turning the water brown by the time he drained it.
He decided not to get in his dirty clothes, but wrap himself in a towel when he stepped into the hallway. “Speaking of dirt. Got anything I can sleep in tonight? Doubt you want me putting mud on any beds.” He snorted a little.

Luca was only giving out a gentle joke. Since he's been having a frustrating, long day. So, a small joke would be nice. Even a casual conversation, dealing with happiness. But in these recent times, it was more difficult. Luca frowns. Was that one of the villages he was discussing to Caesar about, back in the meeting? But all the humans? Why all? His head shook. "Look, I'm very sorry that happened, to you. What about the other kids?" He didn't want to get too deep with him in the touchy topic.
When he had returned there was warm pancakes, cooked from that morning. "I thought you'd like something this evening. I wasn't sure if they did, or not." he kindly offers. He let goes of the counter walking over. "Well, I'm not used to having children here, but at times they do. So, I just might." he walks into a random room. "Feel free to eat."

Again, Morgan shook his head a little. It was hard to believe they’d kill them all but as far as he knew they had. “Everyone. Not even because they had to I think I’m pretty sure they just did it for fun,” he explained with all honesty. “The only reason I survived was my dad built an underground shelter in my house. Mom got me in there just before...” he paused. “Either way they didn’t find me.”
Ohhh pancakes. Morgan honestly hadn’t eaten in a while so he nearly dove straight for them. Foregoing his table manners he began to eat, sitting and licking his lips. “Thank you. It was a long journey I needed this,” he explained. Then smiled and added. “So if Caesar isn’t going to throw me out what are they gonna do with me? I mean, after tonight...”

Lucas's devastating impressions were confirmed by Morgan's response. This poor child, only being the survivor to his birth village. Unless some got away or was hidden in the vegetation. Regardless, he was going to report on this to the council. He frowned, feeling sad for Morgan. "I'm really sorry that happened to you." he refrained from padding his shoulder. "Was your village sick?"
Luca wasn't picky on table manners, just a little stingy on furniture. He walks back in with a simple nightgown. Sadly, it appeared more girlish. "I have this," he informs, cringing with disturbance. "Unless you want to use one of my small shirts?" he offers. He walks over. "I'm not sure, I just know he's ticked."

Sick? No. There were other reasons though he was sure. But they had been lucky in that respect as far as they knew. “I uhhh don’t think so. No one really got sick at least.” He admitted. “It’s ok though. I know they’re in a better place. We were good people.”
He looked at the nightgown a bit. Tilting his head a little, it definitely was a little more girlish. And he could tell Luca was a little embarrassed. But he gave a small smile deciding to spare him that. “If you’re cool with me wearing one of your smaller shirts that’s fine,” he then chuckled. “Not like anyone would see me in either so...”
When Luca mentioned he didn’t know. He pondered Caesar’s thoughts. Technically Luca appeared to be an adult, and a gorilla, something which was fierce. “Well, Caesar asked you to be my guardian. He uh, didn’t mention how long that had to be for,” he paused a moment. “Like I wouldn’t take up much room. And I could help out around the house, y’know?” He added.
He closed his mouth after a moment. Yeah right, he’d tried this same thing in The Promised Land and no one really had time for that. “Sorry, I Uh... it’s not my place to ask that.” He mentioned stuffing more food in his mouth to hopefully shut himself up. Even if, in all honesty Luca had started to gain his trust. Something which lately was hard.

Luca slightly pouts at his response. "Because of they suspect a village is mostly sick, they will kill and burn everything." he explains a common action from the Overlords. "Leaving no one alive." He bounces his head, tapping on his chin. "Perhaps your correct."
That's were Morgan was incorrect. Luca would have either humans or apes over for a variety number of reasons. Now tonight? Very unlikely. He only was grimacing because he didn't want to embarass the poor child if anyone did come over. He smiles on returns. "Okay, then. I'll get one."
Luca was only departed for a few minutes. He emerges back into the dinning room with a solid dark blue shirt. He lays out over one of the recliners. "Here, try this one."
He removes his fingers from the cushioned chair, gazing over with a perplexed expression. "What? I wasn't informed about this. I mean it's no issue, but being notified helps." That's a good offer. "Yes, you can do that. But it's already done." Now Luca was very puzzled. This child threw out interesting responses and questions. "Not your place about what?"

Well that was unnerving. Thankfully for him he wasn’t sick though so he had nothing to worry about. “Well that’s creepy... I really hope not but at least I’m not sick,” he noted honestly. “But I guess I’ll never really know. So no point in thinking about it.”
He was careful to move to some privacy to get dressed. It was of course huge on him but that was the point. And it would be ok. “This is perfect, Luca, thanks.”
When Luca mentioned he hadn’t realized his eyes bulged. Had he understood wrong? His stomach tightened and a bit of fear went in his eyes. After all, he’d seen the wrath of some people and so... “no... No maybe I understood Caesar wrong and he just meant tonight!” He managed hastily. “I don’t want you to be saddled with a commitment like that..”
He felt a little nervous now as Luca questioned what he meant, trying to keep himself calm. “I just I mean. Who asks someone to take them in like that? Having a kid is a big commitment,” he then added. “It should be someone else’s choice right? Not because someone asked them... Especially not me.”
If it weren’t obvious he’d suffered some kind of abuse before, it was now. He was a bit shaky, even if Luca has technically said yes. What if he went to Caesar and got angry? What if they threw him out or worse? He hadn’t meant to overstep.

Luca nods with him, "not just creepy, mainly sad. It's clear they don't want to aid the humans in a cure or even try." He sighs, pivoting his back and forth. "It's like they hope to rid it by destroying an entire village. Well, that's wrong." He tilts his head lightly frowning. "Yes, it's best not to." He didn't observe him where he went, it was clear why he did. A small smile appeared. "I'm glad it does. I didn't want you in that gown."
He notices his exposed freight in his actions and petrified face. His hand rests on his shoulder. "Hey, hey. Why the scare? I'm not going to throw you out. Maybe I didn't here Caesar and assumed. I don't mind around. I found a great portion by looking at you. Your actions reveal a valid point." His head shakes. "Nah, I've raised little children at times until their parents could be located. You can say I foster humans." He steps back, walking back into the kitchen. "I have no issue having you here. I'd like to train you."

Yikes the actual thought disturbed him. But he tried to hide it as best he could licking the side of his lip and nodding. “The overlords suck in general. I can only imagine what it’d be like if I had been captured,” he explained. “Especially with the rumors going around. Someone said they’re putting kids my age in cages.”
Morgan took a deep breath when Luca spoke up again. Wait so he did this before? That was interesting. Did this happen often he wondered? Honestly he couldn’t imagine that wasn’t a possibility. “What do you mean by my actions revealing a lot?” He asked as he tilted his head. “Not that I mind staying if you feel that way. I’m happy to have a place to stay. Better than the streets y’know?” He said. “I just wanted to make sure you’re cool with it. Since my parents won’t just show up... And I’m not going to be of age for a long time.”
Train him? He perked up at that. “Really? So I can actually train to join the fight then? Even after I screwed up?”

Luca hate even the thought of that actually occurring. He's meet a few escapees from the Overlords, very rare does it happen, but the inner spies aid in that. The honest stories that he's been discover would make a human want to cower away into the jungles forever, even remain in a cave. "Yes, it's harsh," he muffles, removing his fingers from the furniture. "It's best to obey here and not be heroic, Morgan. You will danger yourself and others."
In time he returns from the kitchen with a stack of freshly cooked pancakes. He places them on the edge of the table. He whips his fingers along the towel he used. "Uh, by your actions, and boldness, Morgan. You exposed no fear, and was determined to fight. Kids your age just simply huddle down." He sites down in the chair closest to him. He looks over, "we welcome any human, even ones who betrayed us at one point." He smiles over, "of course. I've trained ones who never listen to the rules."

Morgan nodded a little - definitely believing what Luca had to say. But moreover knowing he had to listen to Luca now given he’d be taking care of him from now on. The last thing he wanted to do was worry someone who was kind enough to take him in. “I promise I’ll uh. Do my best to stay out of trouble,” he smiled sheepishly. “Though I’m pretty sure I pissed those guys off. So if anything I’ll have to watch my back.”
Wow? He’d actually recognized that? Again he gave a small blush, rubbing the back of his neck. “That’s uh... that’s just how my dad taught me. To stand up for what I believe in. Fight back. Not let anyone or anything stop you.”
When he mentioned not obeying the rules he kind of chuckled. “I mean I don’t think I’m that bad. But if my parents could give you any advice about having me as a kid,” he chuckled again. “They’d probably say just make sure you can keep up. Or put a GPS on me or something.”

Luca shakes his head, wavering his hand over to him. "Heh, don't worry about that. You're not the troublemaker, Morgon. It's a daily basis. I even encounter young humans that are more destructive than you realize, he smiles over. "Don't beat yourself up, Morgan," he informs, he reaches over for the syrup. He takes, slowly pouring over the stack. He smiles over, placing the bottle down. He flashes a gentle smile. "Your father sound like a great mentor. He also sounds wise," his head nods. He skids the bottle close to him. He rose a brow, little puzzled. He gently smiles, looking over at him. "Why is that?" he chuckles.
