NAME: Penelope (Penny) 20 PRIMARY FUNCTION: (Pet, Slave, War Dog, Hound, Lab Animal, or Zoo Animal) Pet, companion
PREVIOUS FUNCTION: (If not first master)
None
Penelope didn't know what they wanted from her. They had given her some clean clothing and shoved her into a clean cage. It was big enough for her to lay down in and move. When she sat, it was like sitting on plastic or glass. She watched each ape walk cage to cage. This was going to be her decision to either go with an ape.
"No. No. No." She said, to each one that passed by her.
"Move on." She said as another ape passed by her cage. "There's another one that looks better than me."
Then she glanced around. "Hey, you." She sounded boastful again. "When do I get to leave here? I can see it's a joke."
She grew bored and there was nothing to occupy her time except watch them walk by.

"No? Move on?" Ostara's honeyed lace tone counters. She wanders closer to the enclosure, hoisting a finger to the scaly talon of a toucan. The colorful fowl latches onto her finger. She drew it on another shoulder, having the bird perch on the other shoulder.
A muted shrug came to her brawny shoulders. She wasn't needing to taunt or harass, but, maybe draw her attention off from herself and open her eyes to the realization to her situation. It wasn't the first time she had confronted a human that behaved this way.
Truly, why was Ostara there? She was on vacation, fancying herself. She smiles, walks a few inches back. "If you wish me to move on, I don't mind." She slips around, leading herself to another cage. "I'll go in another direction to search for this 'better' humans."

Penny noticed an ape with a colorful bird. It seemed that she had overheard her say something about moving to another cage. Penny didn't really respond so it meant nothing to her. Penny shrugged. Well, that wasn't her fault. She was watching the new ape go to another cage to look for a better human. Well, she was the only female human in the cages.
Penny didn't say a thing and went onto her usual task of lounging around, staring at the ceiling of her cage. Well, it's just another time for a nap.
A handler drew himself away from the desk to ask her if she was interested in any of the humans. "Good day, Ma'am. Are you interested in any humans?"

The toucan lashes his wings toward the handler, even cawing defensively. Ostara snickers. Pretty sure the handler was either surprised or provoked. She twists on her heel, elevating a finger to the fowl, stroking its head which he obviously enjoyed. "No worries. Obviously, he isn't too thrilled about you."
Her honeyed tone returns after glimpsing over to the calm human. A delicate smile caresses her friendly face. "Mmm, I was fascinated by that one, but, evidently she doesn't want me in return." She glances back over after telling. Her clean hand rose. "No issues, really, I'm sure others would rather go."
She lowers her hand back down. Her sights leap between each cage on each side of her as she quietly roams down. Infrequently she shifts her head back, glimpsing over to the demanding female. She didn't really take kindly to control or demands.

The handler retreats a few steps as the toucan caws defensively and looks over to the human. "Oh. She has no say so. She's been saying that since she's arrived here and demanding to be let out."
Penny was staring at the ape and couldn't believe he just ratted her out. She continued to lay on the cage's floor. Well, that was just fine. No ape needed a 20 year old really. She would continue to make her demands. She continued to watch. Not really talking.

Ostara warmly giggles, knowing how humans casually operate. Drawing apes to requiring to do their bidding or 'manage' them by certain feelings. Her head sways, changing her front over to the demanding human. She was only performing this way to work and have the human recognize her situation and want out.
She flays her arm in the air, freeing the toucan above. "Here, I'll have him search for another human. I mean I do it often when I'm seeking," she accords, scrutinizing the fowl obeying, and soaring around. She glides her eyes down back over to the handler.
"Hehe," a tender chuckle comes out. "Sorry about the scare. How would you like it if someone crept up on you?" she swings her head, twirling around, directing herself to Penelope. She mixes her ankles, slanting into a casual empty cage. "I wouldn't mind taking her. But it won't hurt for Rein to find another. Unless someone wants her?"

Penelope was watching the bird now fly around.
The handler shook his head. "I wouldn't like it either. But this is the only human we have at the moment, unless you wish for a younger human?" He asked, glancing at Penny.
Meanwhile, Penny was looking silently at Ostara and sat up slowly.
The handler again, "No. I haven't had a buyer come in to purchase her as of now." Now, noticing she was sitting up slowly. "She's pretty petite though so she should be easy to handle." The handler said. "And I'm sure she will cooperate once she's out of the cage. If not, we have other means."

Ostara rose a had, not interested in younger humans, even though they would cooperate at a younger age. She sweetly smiles, lowering her palm, slowly back to her side. "No thank you. I prefer adult dogs. Actually?" her finger taps on the cage she was slanting against. "To be honest, I never had a pup."
QUietly her arms furled against her chest. "Mr., don't fret, I'm very intrigued by her. I just hope she cooperates in the stunts I plan to have her perform." She grimaces at the thought. She kept that sour possibility to herself. Her sights glided over to Penny. "She already seems to rebel."
Well, he was the handler and knew best for the humans in this containment area. She nods his head, believing him. She'd hope he wasn't a fluke. "Well, can you prep her and bring her out?" Her honeyed voice asks. "If you say that is true, then she wouldn't be any issues. But all wild humans have some wild or rebellion."

The handler nodded in agreement. "The youngsters are hard to come by and with her being the only pup for now, she may be cooperative to a point?" He hadn't dealt with much defiance. He keyed a code into the keypad and opened the door..
Penny shot straight up from her lying position and scurried to the back wall of the cage. She wasn't sure what was going on and why he was entering her safe zone.
"Now, don't give me any trouble." He spoke as he grabbed her by the arm to draw her out.
But it wasn't easy because she did rebel, only out of fright.
It was useless to fight and she was being fitted with a collar in which she tried to get off. Then a leash was attached. Well, that made her try to tug it out of the handler's hands. But he wouldn't let go.

Ostara pleasantly smiles over to Penny. She didn't resemble like any problem, but the image was the outer peel to the core. Easily, she inspects the shocked human from a fair inches away. Casually startled, alarmed on unknowingly what's going on. Overall, she isn't squealing any longer. No insults.
She bows her head several times, drifting her friendly perceptions on the handler. "Yes, I've been instructing humans for years. I know good stock when I scrutinize it. She doesn't show one that would retaliate hard. A little? Yes, it's common."
Ostara tenderly grabbed her own chin, leisurely approaching. "I'm a little amazed she didn't resist out of fear. Has she been through this before? Or, possibly doesn't want to arouse any trouble." She smiles, her fingers leaving her face to calmly grasping Penny's small chin. "Very mild."
As customary, the human fought for her new accessories in her new life. "Ah, I would give in, it's not going to be removed," she breezily declares, already cognizant of the regulations. "Yes, I'd like her." She flutters her device over the scanner. "There, the amount you desire."

The handler noticed that she wasn't fighting against anything except for trying to take off her collar which wouldn't be easy to get off. "Maybe you're lucky with this one. Apart from her demands, I think she was directing her comments to the others who saw her and left."
Penny didn't care for the collar and despite being told that it wasn't going to come off, it didn't stop her from attempting to remove it. She already hated it. Even that degrading leash attached to it. She was focused mostly on the accessory around her neck than what happened.
"I'll stretch out until it snaps then." She said.

Ostara graciously extends her arm out to the handler, fingers curving around the leash. She was dismayed how compliant, yet, feasible that was only for display? Just to get out? Humans were clever animals, not all, but a majority. Of course, she didn't assume Penny would act up. Still, if she was, she'd was already alarmed.
She heartily snickers, carrying the leashed human nearer to her hip. A palm runs down the human's long, platinum hair. "She's a good one. None are perfect, some have their salty side that taints their sweet side." She defines. "Don't worry you can always, gradually return back their pleasing part."
She tenderly grips Penelope's chin, luring it up. "I'm advising you now, don't let me repeat myself. Do not pull," she warns for the final time. "Don't get on my corrupt side."

The handler nodded, "They can be unpredictable at times, but it's their nature. Well, that's what Rowan says of the wild ones." He explained. "The more wilder they are, the harder to train. She was shipped in from a small settlement and she won't talk about her small settlement either."
Penny would have continue to pull and tug at the collar if it weren't for her warning. As usual, it was something new to get used to. Absentmindedly, she pulled on the leash to get something from her cage. She didn't want to leave what was hers behind anyway. When she retrieved it, she attempted to test the distance. Not really talking about much...of her warning. She didn't believe she would really hurt her.

Ostara smirks, bobbing her head. She surely agreed with him. Wild ones? Some of them are a handful to a headache. Regardless she caressed a tender smile on her face. "I've dealt with them. A few took years, but I didn't give up. I was a little harsh or have another take over while I cooled." Another long stroke glided down Penelope's ivory white stands. "I believe I got a good one."
Ostara glares over, visibly didn't take her warning. She grapples the leash, gradually hauling her over. "I will not tell you again. You will have to get used to your new life, or uselessly fight it." She glances forward. "She will need some work. But most do." she nods. "I better get back to the temporary home."
