NAME: Oxford AGE: 15 PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Lap or Companion Dog Hound Zoo Animal
PREVIOUS FUNCTION: Lap Dog SPECIAL ATTRIBUTES:
British with an Accent, Well Trained, Respectful, Unusual Purple Eyes, Friendly
Thunk. Thunk.
Ox was bored, so he’d started bouncing a ball off the wall of his cage somewhere between the third and fourth day. Samsun, the gorilla who’d up until now owned him was off somewhere, trying to sell him yet again, so for the moment he was in the care of the handlers.
It was ok, he wasn’t trouble. He’d grown up with apes, and unlike most kids here, had spent some time as a pet. So he wasn’t afraid of that, though he was scared at the prospect of being one in a foreign land.
It didn’t mean he’d fight anyone though - only be a little skidding.
“Lunch time yet boys? Getting hungry in here.” He Noted to a couple of nearby apes to no response. Lord they weren’t as friendly in this country, were they?

Maximus wasn't in the mood and as he strolled around the cages, he spotted a young boy. He shook his head. "Is this the only human in the cages? I was looking for a human who is 18 years old. But this one will do. I'll bid 1,500."
He leaned closer to the cage. "You have a name, boy?" He tapped the cage to draw his attention.

Ox was a bit surprised to see a giant orangutan.
He looked regal too. Maybe a rich ape? Or some form of government. His gorilla master tilted his head at Maximus. ”Ah there are others but believe you me he won’t just do. What you have here is an exotic, once in a lifetime opporunity,” the gorilla knew of Maximus. And all the council by this point. ”Great Maximus, I know why you hesitate. You’re against the new law, no? But the boy you see before you - he is British. Bread to two champion lap dogs. And coming with unusual purple eyes.”
He tapped his fingers together. Though Ox barely looked back up at the large orangutan. A little surprised that the ape would be willing to buy one so young if he were against America’s new law. “Oxford sit. But everyone calls me Ox,” the boy stood to his feet while his master waited to make sure he was who he wanted. “Maximus sounds like a leader. I assume you’re on the council?”

Maximus turned to the gorilla and knew a pitch when he heard one. He crossed his arms as he thought about the new law. It was horrible to do and if he could take in another human, it would be a good idea. "Well, I'm considering a young boy to associate with another human that may need someone to talk to. Since they're both teens, I figured why not. One is 18 and this is 15. So a three year difference between them both. I see he's an exotic and that's rare. I have offered 1,500 as my first bid. Seemingly, no one else is interested in this youngster."

Ox tilted his head.
It was definitely interesting that he wanted to take a pet to help another human. But he was also sure that either way he was going to be a trophy of some sort. Just as well with him, he always had been one. When the cage slid open he let the gorilla pull him up with ease.
”Well I say it’s a fair price, so why not. Mainly I’m ready to be done with him anyway, he’s quite boring,” the gorilla snorted a little bit as he set Ox on his feet. ”I’m sure whatever jobs you give him he’s more thanwilkingk to do it. I’ve trained him well.”
“Being friends with someone’s human shouldn’t be hard,” Ox shrugged his shoulders as he cracked his neck a little. “Means I don’t have to answer someone’s orders or sit in any laps. I’m basically getting my freedom, numbskull.”
Lord, there the boy had to go opening his big mouth. In front of a council member no less. The gorilla face palmed father frustratedly.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk, such foolish young pups believing the world owes them, which in fact, they are the ones who serve the world." Zaius walks into the light. He quietly saw a bird soaring around. Was going to confront the owner, but this loud, foolish boy what really caught his eyes. "Ah, does someone need a harsh lesson? I mean I've given your kind plenty. I don't mind 'taming' a nuisance in a small form." He turns, snickering. "I'll take the brat for two grand. He's not even worth that much."

Maximus didn't bid any other bids. Letting Zaius, his friend have the boy instead. He moved on to another few cages. "I fold." He mentioned to the auctioneer.

Ox looked a little nervous as Zaius stepped in.
Who the bell was this ape now? Did he actually just bid against the ape with the good set-up? Let alone make insinuations of putting him in his place. ”Ah yes he does need some breaking in, Dr. Zaius,” the gorilla noted with a scrunch of his nose. ”It’d be an honor to sell him into a seat of honor in either of your laps. But i don’t wish to put to esteemed council members against each other.”
Ox crosses his arms at that one. He was really getting frustrated with the whole idea. “I was a free human for a long time. I don’t *want* to spend the rest of my life as something one of them shows off,” he stopped as Maximus said he folded. Wait, he folded? What the hell did he mean he folded? “Hey, wait! Get back here! Please don’t leave me with this guy!”
”As Zaius said, that really is not your choice,” the gorilla cleared his throat. ”Now don’t make this difficult for me. I need my payday.” he noted as he stopped the boy short of sprinting. He licked his lips a bit. Really only seeing the money and not much caring about Zaius’ human hatred.

Zaius groomed his claws across a random clear wall to the cage. He didn't care of what the human thought. He was actually ignoring him. He'd deal with him when home. He removes his claws, walking over. He hunches over the desk, reading the documents. "Seat?" he snickers amusingly. "His information either says, hound, zoo, lap, or even companion." He raises, glaring over at Ox. "I'm not having that retaliation, pestering , disobedient beast on my lap. No, I have better uses in his height."

He wouldn’t be having his what!? Ox huffed a little more than a little peeved. Ox was a lot of things, but none of those were it. Instead, he brushed off his clothes a bit to look at Zaius. “I am none of those things. Listen, you may not be my first choice of ape. But make no mistake I’m the best purchase on this lot,” he stated calmly. “I take my job - and my standing very seriously. Let’s get that straight right now... Zaius was it?” He asked as he crossed his arms, frustrated. “I won’t be called or put into the same category as half the riff-raff here.”
The gorilla shrugged his shoulders at Zaius, though the boy was a bit thick headed and full of himself he didn’t lie. ”I already sold him to ye so I ain’t just talkin’ him up, but the boys right. Before ‘e was given to me his parents drilled into him loyalty to the apes,” he snorted a bit. ”You can make him what you want though. He has many talents beyond simply lookin’ pretty in a lap. Knows three languages, reads well above his age group, and has manners.”
He then noted. ”He’s only acting so boastful because he’s scared. Been that way since he was a kid.” he then added rather honestly. ”Not that he doesn’t have some need for breaking in. He has a willy spirit. And is a little big for his britches. I’m sure after a while someone like you can break him of that easily.”
Ox grunted - that was true. But he still didn’t exactly like the idea of going to Zaius. His loyalty toward the apes non-withstanding, the orangutan gave him the creeps.

Zaius was highly irritated from the humans' rude, boastful explanation. Loyal and decided huh? Well, they sure taught him wrongfully. He didn't care to listen to the handler. He directed a taser and electrified him. "Loyal or not, you don't don't demand or 'tempt' clarify to me. Especially trying to control your upcoming life. Your mutts as parents clearly did not educate you with respect. Loyal and listening? Pah!" His arm shot into the air, looking at the handler. "Ox, was it? I admire loyalty, but disrespect? No." He gritted his teeth. "With your action right now, your fit in with these humans perfectly."
