There was always something that amused Charlie about evading the hunters.
To them he stuck out like a sore thumb, but he was good at evading them. Despite the haggard and primitive appearance, as well as his general more animalistic nature. He’d been able to evade them for months, and now today had evaded another round.
As the sun was starting to set he could feel a smile of contentment on his lips. He was now at the edge of the fields, hidden behind a log with some fur blankets wrapped around him. “Go back morning,” he mumured - his eyes gazing toward the wilderness silently. “No safe.”
Least he knew he wouldn’t be if anyone caught up. But none-the-less he rested his head silently, allowing himself to drift into a dream. It was easier to avoid temptation this way at night lest he fall for the “easier” traps. Because lord knew even the easiest of them could draw the simple-minded humans attention unlike the typical intelligent one.
Unfortunately, a smell wafted over him - food. He paused a moment and peered over the log, where was it coming from? Forgetting his sleep, Charlie moved around, as usual, low to the ground and small enough one might mistake him for walking on all fours. “Hungry,” he murmured, he hadn’t eaten for a few days. So lifting his nose, he sniffed the air. It was dark enough he doubted hunters were nearby - so he began his search as quietly as he could.
He knew if he would be seen the sight of a near-adult human like this, with only animal furs draped on his top, and a loincloth on his lower half... Well, it would grab any hunters attention so he had to be quick about this...

Galen was stirring a pot of a vegetable beef stew as it simmered in the pot. It would be enough to feed him for a day or two before spoiling. He had pitched a small camp with a tent and was completely alone save for a little liger kit he had found. Maybe his human would enjoy a small liger kit for company as he was away on missions and the young woman was lonely and sad. As it was, he couldn't remember Melanie being very happy. The kit would eat a part of the warm stew? Or maybe not. He hadn't really attempted to give it a cooked meal.
Galen sensed a strange odor of a human. The kit scampered into his tent to hide. Well, the little kit wasn't a fully grown liger so anything would frighten her. He picked up his gun and another weapon to throw at the human's legs. It had two rocks and a thick rope that was too strong for cutting.
Then Galen caught sight of a - human who looked unlike any human he had seen. He cast the leg binds out to make the human fall. He was wild. Animalistic even. Untamed. The rock and rope weapon tied itself around the human's legs. Galen walked over and pointed his gun to his face. "Don't you move."
Firelight illuminated his face.

God frickin’ damn.
A growl erupted from the back of Charlie’s throat as he reached down to attempt to get whatever had restricted his legs. But to him the contraption was genuinely... Different. What on Earth was this thing? He grunted and pulled, first with his teeth, then his hands.
He’d not quite grasped how to untie it when he found himself face-to-face with a gun. “No hurt!” He cowered, his arms up like he’d seen others do in the past. “No hurt!”

Galen shook his head as he found himself face to face with a mere wild human. Unlike any of the humans he had met, he was curious. This human appeared so primitive and didn't seem to know how to get out of the bind he had around his legs. Galen wasn't going to let him go. Now to ensure he didn't try to escape. He figured the human was nothing but a 'child'. Rowan would be able to figure him out. He would have to bring him into the city.
He moved his gun out of his face and grasped his collar, making it difficult to reach his arm which had armor. "Hurt you? What is your name?" Then Galen drew him into his camp, in front of the fire. He drew out a collar and placed it on his nape. He was sure that the human would attempt to flee the moment he was loose. Taking out a chain, he clasped the chain onto his collar and then made sure it was around a tree. The things he needed to do to secure the human since there wasn't a cage to be had. He freed his legs then. As he observed the human, he wondered if Rowan would know anything about primitive humans.

Charlie whimpered a bit.
He really didn’t enjoy being manhandled in any way. And it was greatly frustrating, especially when the ape put that... Thing around him. The ape seemed to almost look at him like a novelty. And it scared him. His gold eyes moving one way then the other as he tried and failed to move on the chain.
Then the ape asked his name. Charlie’s tribe had trouble with speach and as such this was easy. Their names were always simple, never complex. “C-C-Char-l-ie,” he said with some difficulty. “Want food. Hungry.” He said. Having given up fighting by now but smelling the nearby food and thinking only of his empty stomach.
He again tugged a little at the collar. What was this thing? Why couldn’t he leave? “Let go?” He asked with a quiver. “Don’t understand.” Though he could easily be convinced it was good for him - he didn’t conceptually get it.

Galen wasn't looking at him as a novelty. Just more curious as to why a primitive human was out alone. What was he doing out alone without any protection? He didn't see any knives or any weapons. The jungle was dangerous. He wasn't about to let him go and he had a couple of bowls to spare. He also noticed that the human had trouble speaking. "Charlie."
The stew was what possibly led him directly to him. He scooped some of the stew into a bowl. "No." He said, firmly. "You are better off with me." Galen wouldn't let him go. It was for his own good. The least he had was free hands. He could move them and use them to eat with. There was a spoon in the bowl. He hoped this primitive human would understand the concept of silverware. He scooped himself his own serving into a bowl and began to eat, using his fork. He tossed some of the meat over to the liger kit.
Galen watched the human. "Eat."

Charlie stared a moment.
He was watching Galen curiously. Like he wasn’t sure how to decipher if Galen was telling the truth or not. But when the ape offered him the stew. Well he wasn’t exactly very cordial about it. Rather he began to drink from it, not quite with his hands but at least understanding to hold the bowl.
“Better off?” He asked with a tilt of his head. “I don’t understand.”

He had never seen such a wild primitive human before. Oh he saw humans from the villages and they were more vocal. Fight left in them. Always trying to run away or escape. They fought every time. But this human wasn't fighting. It was odd. He almost was like a child. Children always needed to be taught how to use their manners and how to use utensils. The human didn't even use the spoon and there was one way to show him. He picked up his fork and showed it to him. "You never used a spoon before?" He asked. He dipped the fork into a piece of stew meat. He picked it up and watched him. See if he would imitate him.
"Better off with me through the trip home."

He watched the ape eat.
But rather than take the utensil. He continued to drink from it - he didn’t need something so civilized in his mind. He was content doing what he wanted, when he wanted. “Home?” He asked as he finished slurping some more of it. “I go home?” He asked.
He still hadn’t grasped that his definition - and Galen’s definition were different. “Itchy.” He grumbled as he scratched at the collar. “Why put?”

Galen continued to watch him slurp his meal. There was no use trying to get him to follow suit. Galen continued eating. He wasn't aware that he wasn't about to be sold into the pet trade in the city. The more he thought about his own human, the more he thought that so much could go wrong. Especially with a wild human. Who knew what diseases they carried?
"Yes. Home," He finally said. "Where it's warm and better than the woods."
