Amelia was convinced that phoenix would never notice this. She had cleverly used a disguise of several pillows on her 'bed' and then covering them up. She wasn't about to stick around here for some kind of examination. It was easy to leave the cage since it was open. Then she eased out of the cage, and into the hallway. Briskly, she began to jog. Then she came to a door and pushed it open.
She rushed out of the hall, taking each step in a hurried state. This was going to be easy! No one will find her and bring her back to the cage she just left. It was stupid, boring, and why would there be 'children's toys'? "Apes are stupid." She mumbled to herself.

Unfortunately for the little human that believed she had been clever and escape. She would be bright on her scheme to 'fool' the vets or whoever was her caretaker. Ursus had been in the building, containing access to scout for a 'fugitive', which in reality she was innocent. Though, he didn't care and was determined to discover the human somewhere. Yet, he might fail to determine the truth. Unexpectedly, Amelia was elevated from the solid flooring below. The back of her shirt acting like a 'scruff' in the situation. "Stupid? Is that so." Gradually she was shifted until his rageful face was in her direct view. "Where do you plan to go? Apes are on every street to the sidewalk." He spots the collar. "Pah, you're quite young," he refuses to release her. "I could take you back to the cages," he darkly pondered.

Amelia hadn't been celebrating too early. Nor was she expecting any ape to find her and she squealed in surprise as she was lifted by the back of her shirt by an ape that seemed to enjoy 'tormenting' humans. She saw the rage in his face, and of course, she did have a big mouth. And she appeared young because of her twin braids. The cages?
She couldn't move out of his grip and she said, "Some are," She murmured. The issue with not being able to 'leave' was actually weighing in on her. She couldn't go anywhere anyway. She made an "I don't know" answer.

Phoenix had gathered the late dinner for Amelia and was heading down the long, bland hallway. He didn't think she escaped, though he was fooled.
On his way, he spotted a tall gorilla with an evil aura intoxicating the 'serenity' of the silent area. Who was that? Further staring, revealed Amelia dangling.
Ah, that dark tone. Who else would that be? And how did he get clearance? His head shakes. "Ursus! Release my human this instant." He storms over, scowling upward.
"Don't you have human target practice to get to? Besides who gave you permission? It's restricted back here, " he growls.

Amelia should have stayed in her 'cage' but she couldn't just stay in such a small space. "Oh! Please let me down! I don't like heights!" She was asking the ape now. If she moaned or sounded pitiful, perhaps this ape would let her go. He wasn't someone to mess with. "Please? Oh please? I'm sorry! I didn't mean to call all you apes stupid." She was overcoming some of her shock. "It's- just that- some apes aren't smart in the cages." She had to add to dispel some of the half-truths. She didn't want the gorilla to be mad at her.
Then she heard a voice- it was so familiar and 'comforting' until the voice growled. Oh no...She was going to get it. "I wasn't going to escape! Honest! I was just exploring this hall and I bumped into this big ape. He grabbed my shirt and now I'm like 8 feet off the ground." She looked down to the floor which was a bad idea. It was like a long way down to her. "I won't run." She added.

Ursus grunts, grimacing, when he was being demanded by a chimp. A chimp! Out of all the species. Perhaps he could have one with this demanding dwarf. He clicks his tongue releasing the squealing rat by Phoenix. "How pathetic these species are. It wasn't even that high," he scoffs, "why to help such a meaningless creature?" He plucks her up again. "Really?" his intense orbs rolled. "Why I'm back here? Because rumors have been surfacing around that there's a 'fugitive' is being cared for." He drops Amelia for the final time. "I don't want this mutt anyway, too petrified easy. Nope won't do." His fangs intimidatingly expose as a harsh wince emerged.

Amelia grunted as she was dropped by Phoenix. Well, that was fine. He could deal with the gorilla, but wouldn't they attack each other? She didn't know. "I'm not pathetic or meaningless! It doesn't matter how high it was." Amelia defended herself. Then she was plucked again. She laid her hands on his face. "Stop plucking me up! I do better on my own two feet, please." Least she wasn't squealing any more. She had already gathered that the gorilla was much stronger than her.
"Besides, I'm not a coward. How would you feel if someone sneaked up on you and grabbed you from behind?"
Amelia grunted as she landed on her feet.

Phoenix was no happier than Amelia with Ursus entering in a restricted area. Especially with the massive ape hauling her up a few times. If that wasn't vexing, then the stupid human had to 'defend' herself in the most idiotic way. Phoenix snarled at her, "hush this minute," he demanded, clenching his fangs.
Once she was down, he grapples Amelia's arm and draws her towards him. "Weak, petrified or not," he growls, "she's my dog, not yours. If you're desperate, go hunting or the cages. Just, quit bothering my human," he demands, pivoting his head back and forth.
He snorts, "why would you care? You have no sliver of likeness towards the 'bald' creatures," he informs. His eyes rolled, whispering, "because I see some goodness and aid in these beasts. If you..." he pauses. "We haven't had any new humans in here," he told the truth.

Amelia was not used to getting snarled at by any ape. Instead, she hadn't said a single word after that. She was biting her lip as she heard 'my dog' and some other things. She also noted that his hand had grappled her arm, bringing her forward to him. She didn't speak to Phoenix or Ursus.
If she spoke anything else, she didn't want to see his snarl. She didn't understand why she was being snarled at in the first place. She rolled her eyes as she listened to what Phoenix said next. Why was she related to a 'beast'? The questions bounced around in her head and kept her questions out of the picture. It would just prove that she had no intelligence. She decided to play 'dumb' stupid human. She tried to remove Phoenix's hand from her arm. She wasn't about to run anyway. Well, she'd run into that 'room' that she emerged from. She broke the silence. "Can you let go of my arm? I want to go back to the room I came out of." She insisted. It would perhaps reveal some intelligence. "Please?"

Ursus amusingly snickers in amusement as Phoeinix scorns his own human. It was interestingly pleasing in a dark way. His head shakes. "You really need to muzzle your dog, or just keep her 'tongue' in check," his head shakes. "Can you even handle a human? I mean she was about to escape." His arms furled, darkly grinning over, "wouldn't that be a shame?" "You're easy to provoke," he whispers back, not a sliver of anger. Ursus ponders if he should provoke this chimp more often. He's fun! He snorts, "I don't like going to the cages, too east to access the mutts." His head shakes, always despising that possibility. His finger rose, elevating his chin. "Nope! I go after mine in the jungles, to examine each and place them where I view perfect." He sighs, dropping his chin and pointing a finger at Phoienix. He clicks his tongue. "You have too much heart for a waste of life," his eyes drop low. "Mmm, what a shame, I'm still going to examine various of areas."

Amelia was about to blow her top...and her mouth finally got away with her. "I was not escaping! I was attempting to escape the floor." She exclaimed. "Was I running? No. Did I look like I was even looking for a way out? No." She couldn't help it. Her hotheadedness was getting the best of her. "I don't see what the big problem is with exploring this place. Sheesh!" She couldn't help herself when she was being defensive. It would take more than a snarl to shut her up. She didn't believe she'd make it out of the vet's office anyway.

Phoenix had already been vexed, still boiling with inner rage. Ursus's actions and demands were not aiding and only fumed him more. It had been a very, very exhausting night with helping an emergency. He worked intently as did the others. Then, foolishly that adult mutt had ended his patience.
He lightly backhanded her to receive the message. "That's enough, Amelia! You're foolish, and dumb to scream at any gorilla!" his tone increased in fury. His hand flung down the hallway where her 'room' was. "Get back into your cage or you'll be 'dealt' with if you disobey," he ragefully advises, "now! No stalling."
His wrath wasn't complete yet, no, he concluded it on Ursus. "Ursus....get out! You don't have the correct authority, you don't go any further." His head swayed a few times. "I don't care how you gain your humans," he puffs loudly, grimacing, refusing himself to release his capped anger.

Amelia wasn't trying to do anything but protect her dignity and what did she know about gorillas? She never met one like this one.. Then a flash of fear flashed through her face and the insult showed in her expressions. Her face stung from Phoenix's light backhand. She hadn't really thought about hesitating to flee from Phoenix's rage.
Her mounting fear arose with a threat she hadn't really heard of before. No ape handler had really threatened her with being 'dealt' with. She really didn't want to find out what would happen if she didn't go to her 'room'. The thoughts of what would probably happen ran through her head as she ran down the hall towards where Phoenix had pointed to her 'room'. It was as if she didn't want to be 'near' an angry chimpanzee.
Once she had arrived at her 'room', she hesitated on entering, standing out in the hall. She would probably be better off there instead of out there. She found herself reaching out for the door and 'closing' the door to her 'room'. The words kept bouncing around in her head of being stupid and dumb. She even noticed that she had lost her appetite. Amelia did the only thing she was accustomed to..Sitting in the middle of the cage with her legs drawn up and her eyes watching the door of her 'room'.
