Well, who said a kid would stay in her bedroom, especially when every one was out on 'duties' and jobs. She decided to try escaping or leaving her room, despite what Aurora said and Andrew said. Caesar was busy again with his council. So- poking her head out, she looked around. No one there to stop her.
She left her room, heading down the hall. She believed this was the way out of the palace. If any one saw her, she'd just deny attempting to leave the palace against Caesar's wishes. Planning her own little rescue mission of her parents and young brother. There had to be a way to get out of the palace without being detected by any ape or human. "I'll find my parents and my brother on my own." She concluded. "That is if I can find a way out first without getting detected by Cornelia or Caesar."

Cornelia was returning from providing aid to a few apes and one human that's gotten strangely ill. Mostly she gave them a strong herbal soup. It wasn't going to cure their bizarre illness, just aid on what the sickness is doing. There was some remedies to help, but she'd get them the next day by foragers.
She casually walked down the hallway, on her way to finally get rest after a few days of early wake ups and late night. She was very thankful she wasn't the only one helping anymore. Plus the students would soon have their chance.
Softly her heavy eyes blinked. A blur was approaching her. She paused, fixing her focus. A young human? This late? Where are the patrols. No matter, she walked over to Jennifer. "What are you doing out here? Don't lie either. I have that already with the young ones." She softly asks.

Jennifer seemed to stop in the middle of the hallway as soon as she saw an ape heading through the hall. She thought no ape would ever stop her. She came up with the excuse which would end up being a flat out lie. "Oh...No where." She wouldn't admit that she was attempting to sneak out of the castle. Especially at night.
She didn't know who this was so she figured she may be 'just a renegade' ape like every other ape she met.
"Yeah. No where." She repeated.

Cornelia could easily view the body language, especially the common reply. Both had solidified her thoughts on this girl's bluff. She, however didn't holler or rage over such a small, wrong response. It's not always smart to approach so viciously, and be very strict to strangers.
Instead, she responded in kindness. "No where? Really?" Her head slanted, continuing to speak, "Come now, child, what's the real reason? You just don't leave a room and walk down a corridor with no reason." She softly placed her shoulder against the wall. "It's extraordinary late," she quietly adds.
Her eyes shot in both directions where the hallways splits off. "I'm sure Caesar wouldn't like a young human, such as yourself wandering this late. Very odd. Dangerous things occur at these hours. That's why the children have a strict time to go to bed by. It's for their safety as well."

Jennifer couldn't seem to bluff her way out of this nightly adventure, but oh she could continue. "Yes. I'm not tired and don't really go to bed when everyone tells me." Well, that wasn't true. Her parent's set a bedtime at 8:30, but with Caesar, it was too early for her to go to bed at 7:30 PM.
"Besides. It's not that late." She added.

Cornelia smiles with a small amusement. It wasn't the first time that she dealt with young humans and apes that try further to escape the truth. But in reality, they were only digging themselves deeper into the abyss of lies. It would be hard for them to return to the truth.
Cornelia reaches over and places a warm hand on Jennifer's small shoulder. "It's almost ten, dear," she gently corrects her. "Besides, if you're new, then you'll get the time mixed up at times." She dropped her hand from her shoulder. "Now, there would be guards highly patrolling. Either they were blind or you avoided them."
She smirked, then looked to another random direction. "Don't keep bluffing child, nothing good comes out of it, and people learn not to trust you." She wisely informs. "Now, why are you really out here?" Her hand rose. "Now, not the comment 'I'm bored or can't sleep. Because I can assure you there would be guards."

"It was easy to avoid them anyway and I want my Mom and Dad." That sounded a lot better than lying. Maybe she would be more understanding if she knew. Bluffing wasn't about to get her out of trouble anyway. From the looks of it.
She didn't want to admit that she couldn't sleep. She had been lying awake for the longest time. She gave a little frown. "I can't sleep." Everything was new to her. New sounds, new smells, and being thrown into a direction she couldn't control.

Cornelia gently smiles, lowering her hand and locked it into her fingers. A soft nod came. "Now that sounds more realistic, and believable," she whispers, nodding a few times.
Her mom and dad? Aren't they present in the palace or the Renegade grounds? She blinked once. "Your parents aren't here? Are they anywhere within these walls?" sh questions, removing herself from the wall. "shall we go find them, dear? My rest can you wait."
"Can't sleep?" she brushed a finger along her chin. "Well that might be because you're young and your parents are not around, unless I'm missing something?" she questions, hoping to get an answer to the mystery.
Her mate had not informed her about Jennifer once.

"No." Jennifer said, shaking her head. She knew she was staying in the palace for a long duration. She spoke, "They've been taken by the Overlords and I got away." She finally decided to announce. "I hid in the trees and no one could see me. After they burned down the village, they left. I climbed down the tree and went through the jungle. It was days before I was found by Caesar and his party. I was sick."

Cornelia descended her smile into a forlorn frown. A hand gently settled on Jennifer's shoulder. She couldn't believe what the young girl had gone through. She sighed, bring her close into arms for a welcoming, soothing hug. She wasn't sure if it would work, but easily gave it a chance.
"I'm so sorry. I'm sure my husband is trying all he can to receive them back. He works relentlessly for the good of your and our kind." She informs, stepping away from him. "Is there anything I can do to help? Perhaps a small slice of dessert?" She kindly offers to avoid the sadness.

Jennifer accepted her hug. It was comforting and much like Caesar had done when she wouldn't stop crying.
"But they said I couldn't have any because of what I did earlier." She told her. "They said I was wrong about trying sweet frosting? I never tasted anything like that. I was curious."

Caesar's sensitive acute hearing heard talking from the hall. He listened and smiled. His wife was taking care of Jennifer. Then he heard Jennifer tell her account of what happened to her village. He stepped out of their bedroom and headed towards them.
"I'll let it slide." Caesar said. "But don't do that again to any frosted desserts. If you're curious about tasting something, ask. You can go have a slice of dessert."
"Hello, dear. This is Jennifer."

Cornelia thought that was a little harsh due to the fact she was randomly brought here, and had no rejection of not wanting to come. For any young teen, that would only bring retaliation, and confusion. However, whoever got after that, she had no authority over.
She sweetly smiled, drawing from the warm hug she had gifted. Get gentle fingers remained on her shoulder, warmly gazing down at her.
"Seems a little silly. It's such a small error that could of been punished by vocals not anymore harsher." she happily states her opinion. Quietly she removed her fingers. As she did, her keened ears caught familiar steps. A warm smile caressed her face.
She quietly steps back, Carly like calmly arriving course to his front side. She reached downwards, grasping her husband's hand. "Ah, I love your sweet side." she utters, carefully not to expose too much love in front of Jennifer.
"Really? What an adorable name." She sweetly compliments. "Asking is better. Even if you need anything like company, or extra blankets." she adds.

Jennifer didn't seem to mind affection of any type. But they weren't that harsh. "Told me to stay in my room for the rest of the day and no dessert." Jennifer said. "The servant was mean."
