Caesar stroked his chin. "Well, at least you didn't try to sneak out like most try." Caesar glanced down to Jennifer. "Unless you were, that's not a good idea and would get you into trouble."
Caesar thanked his mate for her kind response. "We have some things to discuss tomorrow. Would you care to join us?" He asked, Cornelia. "We also have to consider some weird happenings." He decided to tell his mate. "I love my soft side." He smiled, as he gave her a hug. "I believe Jennifer is the human that was sick." He went on. "Her parents and young brother were captured by Overlords. We're trying to locate them. Our spies have sent streams of data to the council and there are weird happenings going on in Central City that are needing to be addressed."

"I'd like to go." Jennifer said, looking at Caesar. "To this meeting." She added hastily, before they could change their minds. "I'm here so that makes me a renegade human, right?" She hoped so. "And I can help even though I'm 13 years old. I'm not a cry-baby or a dummy." She said, proudly. "I was the tallest 13 year old among my peers and can climb trees."
She avoided the question about sneaking out. It was what she was intending to do. She was a tree climber so she'd use the trees. "Besides-" She added. "I can climb high as an ape." She even spoke proudly. Then she yawned, wide. Trying to hide it with her hand.

"No." Caesar shook his head. "I'm afraid you'll have to remain out of the meetings until further notice. We don't want you stressed out from the news we may have received."
Caesar rested his hand on her shoulder. "I know you're a good tree-climber, but I don't think it's wise to climb any tree, especially at night or whenever there are possible Overlord sighting. Even then, climbing trees is dangerous. You could fall and hurt yourself."
Then he noticed that she was hiding a yawn. "Off to bed with you." He spoke. "You're already past your bedtime."

Corneli had already been exhausted throughout the day. Plus little to no sleep the past week wasn't aiding. This ape needed to pass out for a while, even if it meant the floor. Anything looked comfortable at this point. Though, she was very skillful to conceal her true tiredness. Her sweet smile continued to caress her radiant face.
"Actually, the servant was not mean." She placed a hand on Jennifer's soft hair. "Let's put in this perspective," she states, "how would you feel if someone destroyed your creation that took you hours upon hours? Hmm? Or even ruined a part of it?"
She removed her hand, then herself from her caring husband. "I love helping your other side when you're riled up," she continues to whisper, "poor little thing. I hope you can find them." she leans in, swiftly pecking his cheek to not gross the young teen out.
"The meeting?" she yawns and cuts it short. "I can try, but I have a few things to attend to." The poor cheerful girl was patted on by Cornelia. "No dear, not even older apes like you join the meetings. Not even human adults. Is specifically designed for solid ears that won't spread words to the wrong ears."

"Oh I won't spread anything and I'm a good secret keeper." She couldn't believe that they wouldn't let her in on a meeting. After all, she didn't know any of them and no one had met her. Or even bothered to say hello other than Aurora and Andrew. What if they couldn't find them? Then she'd be stuck with the two of them.
The last thing she needed was a lecture. "No. I guess not." She finally said.

Caesar knew that Cornelia was right. "Well, to be honest. I don't allow any children, human or ape to come into my meetings with the council. It's too risky because what if you talked to the wrong ape?"
He gave Cornelia a quick peck on the cheek. "I will make every effort. But there is a chance, Jennifer would become one of our own children if there isn't a possibility." He whispered to her so that the young teen couldn't hear. "Which is what we are also going to discuss in tomorrows' meeting."
He glanced over to Jennifer. "Lets get Jennifer to bed." He suggested. "Sweet treats aren't a good idea when it's dark and late."

It would appear this child is relentless in what she's desired to do, and not even one to stop. Perhaps her parents allowed such behavior and attend to her every wish and want? Regardless Cornelia wasn't going to back down like some that fall for the puppy dog eyes.
Cornelia gently chuckles then responds, "I don't doubt it. But I'm sure if you receive news that too amazing, or shocking, you just might get this urge to tell another. Don't worry, you're not the first if you did. I'm not sure if it's something you young humans gather? Just interesting." She observes the disappointed expression on Jennifer's mug. "No, that's my point. We don't need concealing, vital information being seeped to the cruel Overlords."
What a relief, even her husband implied the dangers. She softly smiles. Her smile faded into a small frown after Caesar utters in her ear. She peers over, very aware of the most likely results for Jennifer's outcome. She'd never mention it, as she could be wrong.
As if the girl hadn't had a better day, Caser declined the sweet offer. Cornelia forced a smile, grasping her husband's bulker shoulder. "Whoah, whoah," she muffles. "Not even a small bite?"

Caesar chuckled. "Well, I guess a small bite wouldn't hurt." He said. "But then it's straight to bed with you, Jennifer. And maybe, we'll have luck with your parents and brother." He admitted hopeful that they would find them and soon. "This way. To the kitchen."
He led the way to the kitchen.

"Really? I can have a little piece? I think you're both the best." Jennifer found herself hugging them both. "Thanks!"
She followed Caesar to the kitchen, her thoughts on what treat there might be for her. Maybe them. She was practically glowing and was happy. "Is it chocolate covered strawpipes? (Like strawberries) or chocolate covered banorbs?" (Bananas)
