NAME: Kramer AGE: 13 PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lap Dog PREVIOUS FUNCTION: N/A SPECIAL ATTRIBUTES: Small (Only 4’8”), Young, Ape-Raised, Adorable
He was back in what was deemed a “private” sale cage.
Perhaps they wanted this kept quiet for now, but nearly every ape had come to see him. The human child Kratos had put in the cages to test something new: a human puppy. A child for a pet - the most adorable and by far most susceptible to suggestion variety.
They’d told him it’d be a great honor - but most of this time Kramer had spent crying.
They’d given him comforts, a soft blanket he wrapped around himself. Some privacy. Even two guards to ensure that nothing about this went wrong. But lord he was scared. Why him? Why did he have to be the guinea pig? Why not someone from the wilds?
”I can’t wait until they mass produce ‘em,” one guard noted to the other. ”I want one but I’ll be shocked if he lasts through the night. He’ll go quick with an owner.”
Kramer simply shied away more. Hiding himself slightly under the blanket to keep many of the apes who’d gathered from seeing him. He didn’t want to go, he wanted to go back to where he lived. Even his abusive father for most of his life would be better.

Maximus wasn't sure what drew him into the cages this time. He had already had a human apprentice, but he had heard of a human puppy being for sale. What harm would it be to see this little human puppy. They were rare and would fetch a pretty penny. He was used to all types of humans being a little wild and not so ape-raised.
He noticed the two guards standing in front of the cage talking about mass producing them. "Mass producing children as pets?" He asked. "Children are just as rare as the females." He looked into the cage and cocked his head. "This is the young human puppy Kratos decided to pull an experiment on?" He wasn't really sure this would work out. Then his thoughts drifted to Allie for a moment. The human could be in that 'experiment' and it'd take nine months and more to raise them.

A handler approached them. "Are you interested in the young human puppy?"
And Maximus stared at the human puppy and thought it'd be trainable better than a human pup. They were hard to train. "Yes. I believe I am interested in this puppy." Besides, if this puppy landed in a council member's hands, he could give reports of how they were proceeding. He would not beat this puppy. "I'll give you 1,200 for him." Maximus said.
The handler was surprised. "A little high-"
"Nonsense." Maximus spoke. "I believe it is a good price for this puppy. Take him out."
The handler opened the cage and watched the puppy well as he walked over. He wore bite-proof gloves as they were now a requirement when handling humans.

No! No! No!
After a moment fear set in as the orangutan bartered. His body shook furiously, wondering what was going to happen. This was a joke, right? It was a joke, a joke, a joke! The second the cage opened he began to fight the handler with every ounce of his strength. Biting but only getting glove as he felt himself handed over.
If Maximus looked him over he’d see that they’d already gotten him out of his ape clothes. Rather he wore a bright little onesie that they’d found most befitting a young pet. He looked very embarrassed by it especially as he could hear the coos of a few of the apes nearby.
It was in a last move of desperation he grabbed for the orangutan. He clung and pulled himself against his fur as if to beg. “Please! There must be some mistake! Or this is a joke?” He asked. “I’m sorry for whatever I did. Please!”
The handler carefully removed his gloves and turned to Maximus. ”His name is Kramer. Change it to something more pet-like I figure,” he noted. ”The pup is sold! More will come! Now be gone the lot of you! There are plenty of other lap dogs.”
Another wracked sob escaped him. As he now turned in an attempt to drop from the strong orangutan. “I am not a lap dog! I am an ape, damn you! An ape!”

But Maximus wasn't impressed by the looks of a onesie and how he was dressed like an infant. He looked him over, despite his cries. He held onto him and spoke to the handler. "This is not an infant." He remarked. "So why dress him in a onesie? We shall get you better clothes than a bright onesie." Maximus easily held him because they didn't have any small leashes, nor any small children's collars. It was just one so far.
"And that will be his blanket. Give it to me." Fortunately, Maximus wasn't that cold and cruel to children. Especially human puppies.
Maximus patted his head. "Now don't you worry about a thing. I'm not going to hurt or beat you like your father did. You'll be fine with me as I have an ape raised human you can associate with." He hoped that Kramer would be a little more open to another ape-raised human than an ape.

The handler gulped a little.
Though he handed over the blanket without a word - rather flustered at this whole thing. He was carefully to produce a collar and leash as well, which had already been provided for their little “experiment”. ”This is what Kratos gave us for now. I’m sure someone in a tailor shop can get you a better collar, he grunted a bit as he handed over the ruddy colored one. ”Shame you got him. A little one like that would have looked so nice in my lap.”
Of course, Kramer was quick to note just how high he was. The eight foot giant that was now patting his head was more than enough to make him stop struggling. “But I’m not a pet!” He insisted a third time. “I have rights! I’ve been told that before! Kids aren’t pets!” He added rather frustratedly.
”New rules, new breed,” the handler huffed. ”You’re sold now, get used to it.” he managed rather bluntly before huffing away. What an annoying little git.
Kramer didn’t seem to care about the other human. Only noted. “Oh an apprentice! That’s what it is! I’m an apprentice!” He attempted.

Maximus looked at the collar and leash offered to him. He didn't care about the laws of pets. This was supposed to be an experiment that was probably deemed to fail, but Kratos figured it would work. Kids were easier to use for pets since they were trainable. "I don't need a leash and a collar if he's ape-raised and obedient.
He looked at Kramer. "Better me than a cruel ape." He said. "I don't intend to baby or coddle a human puppy. And I don't intend to put you into a cage."

Well that was interesting...
He supposed he was thankful that he didn’t need a collar or leash. But he really didn’t like this pet business, at all. The cage wasn’t bad either... But he also didn’t want to have to be seen in public sitting on the lap of some.. Orangutan. What was he five?
He then added. “I guess I don’t really have a choice,” he grunted a bit after getting a little exhausted of fighting. “But I won’t sit in your lap and do tricks. I don’t even know tricks!” He huffed a little and crossed his arms. “I am not your dog.”
He knew all of that was a lie. At least if he wanted to live through this, but god knew he was going to fight this every step of the way for the moment.

Maximus gave him an amused chuckle. "Tricks and sitting in my lap in public places." He was already seeing how amusing this human was. Fortunately for him, he was in a good mood. "Poor Kramer. This isn't for a long time." By then, he walked out of the cages, into the fresh air. His vehicle waited, the driver was standing by the back door.
"It's only an experiment and it's not for a long time. If it succeeds, then we will start on wild humans instead of our own ape-raised humans." Maximus pushed Kramer into his vehicle and entered. The driver closed and latched the door so Kramer couldn't get out.
Then they headed out towards Maximus' estate. "You'll have your own room and I won't make you sit in my lap unless it's to comfort you and you need it." He knew Kramer wouldn't really sit in his lap.

Kramer shuddered at the though of it all.
When he was pushed into the car and got inside he really didn’t like it even more. His eyes looked around for any good means of escape and he found none. “Oh so it’s a game then...?” He asked rather drowsily. “I don’t really have to be a pet?”
He looked near the ape’s lap for a moment, the thought of being there already made him disgusted so he was thankful for that. “I can imagine the fur is warm. But the last thing I want is to be seen like that,” he explained. “If you must do that at least do it in private.” He said. Talking on even keel. “I’m too good for the lap of an ape”

Maximus chuckled. "If you think that or believe that. You never know what the council will implement. It may be a new law that no humans are to be ape-raised."
Maximus wasn't too dense to note the insult and he grasped his shirt, by the neck. The first only motion he had ever done to a child. He wasn't that dense. "Do not insult me, human." His voice carried on a low boom, but it was enough to create shivers to the spine. "Do not cross me because I will tolerate no misbehavior, backtalk, or sass from a young human puppy." He released him, as long as he didn't release him too hard. He was still capable of having broken bones and fractures at his young age. The last he needed was a vet and Zephram breathing down his neck.
The estate was in view now. It was a large sprawling manor with a large manicured lawn and well cut trees. There was no fence, but there were guards throughout the estate, including a fence that was invisible. It was a barrier that alerted servants of any escapees. Actually, Maximus never had a human so this was all new. As the vehicle entered, a huge door opened and in they went. The garage door was closed and locked.
Then they waited for the driver to open the door. A team of servants walked through the door, and waited.

Excuse him?
No - he had lied. He had lied and he had fallen for it - ugh. He hated this more and more the more this orangutan spoke. Though he showed a great deal of fear when he grasped his collar like that. Knowing it would be the last time he made that mistake.
“You lied to me to get me to stop fighting,” he managed rather angrily. Now even more frustrated with this than before. “And I fell for it! What kind of moron am I?” He then added. “I’ve seen that done on a dozen pets before and now I fell for it!”
He then added as they entered. “Well good luck getting me out of this car. Just because the law says I’m a lap dog now doesn’t mean I have to,” he explained rather haughtily. “I will not get out.”

Maximus smirked and shook his head. "Then stay in the car." He left the car as soon as the driver opened the door. "But you won't be able to leave it. Lock the door and do not- under any circumstances let him out. Even if he cries. It's going to be a hard lesson for you." Fortunately, "If he asks to use the bathroom, let him only use the bathroom." He ordered a guard.
He glanced back to the boy and the driver immediately closed the door and he latched it. "If that is his wish to stay in the car, then so be it."
He walked into his home and went to his office to communicate to Kratos through a private message.

Kramer didn’t say a word.
He sat there and cried instead. For a long, long time. He wondered over in his head what he did to deserve this and most of all to a frickin’ orangutan. But mostly he tried to keep his composure as he curled up on a seat. He let himself take a short inhale and breathe.
Finally he reached back and took the damn onesie off too. Perhaps in an act of defiance as he threw it away. He didn’t ask for this - he never asked for this.
By the time he was done he had exhausted his willpower. Curled back into a ball. And fallen asleep on the spot - not really thinking at what disadvantage if put him.

The guards watched, but didn't seem to react to his tears. If Maximus ordered it, it was to be done on the spot. Surely, the kid hadn't learned yet that a council member was the highest member of the ape council. And then he fell asleep.
Well, that was a good thing because when Maximus returned, he found the human puppy sleeping on the seat. His onesie off. He furled his arms and shook his head. "So he has calmed down now." Turning to a maid, he gave her instructions. "Take him to his room and put him to bed."
Maximus left the garage and went into his personal rooms.
The guard unlocked the door and the maid picked him up and took him to his room. Then she dressed in a simple blue pajama set that pets wore, only it was much better, and less like a onesie. Then the maid put him to bed. Then she left, closing the door behind her.

When Kramer woke up he was in a bed.
It wasn’t a bad thing at first because he was used to that. But after about a minute he realized it was not his usual one. Oh god, he looked down to see himself in pet clothes. Blue pet clothes for pajamas. God why? At this point did he make a run for it? He knew that was useless - so he didn’t bother. Not with that wall.
So he walked out of the room, staring around the home until he found what looked like a master bedroom. He knocked loudly, grumbling a bit. “Ok you made your point. I yield. Not that I have much choice with the wall,” he yelled out with deep frustration. “Just tell me what you want to wear and do... or whatever. I don’t even know how being a pet works.” He added with some frustration.
He waited to see if the door would open. Or if this oaf was going to make this worse on himself.
