NAME: Tiny AGE: 15 PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lap Dog or Show Pet PREVIOUS FUNCTION: illegal lap dog SPECIAL ATTRIBUTES: Tall (6’1”), Docile, Obedient, Wants to be a pet, Loyal, Strong
Tiny wanted out.
He was the most popular kid in there so far, with people coming from all over to see the fall, strong child. After all, how many did you see this tall, and therefore, unique in the cages? At least this young! And the fact he was already trained? Well, most forgot that it had been illegal training and were just flooding the market.
His price was as steep as one expected though.
So he’d been there for weeks as just an oddity that everyone gawked at and admired. Something which made him feel awkward, but still he allowed them to look him over, even take out and prod him. As long as he got out of here soon he didn’t mind.
He did mind that they made him stand up all day until they were closed. It was tiring and his joints ached. So for the third time he asked. “Can I sit down yet, sir?” He asked a gorilla handler. Who simply snorted and turned away.
Well it had been worth a shot. “Seriously dude. I need to nap or I’m so going to fall asleep on you. How good would that look?” He asked in complete annoyance. “I want to get sold to you know.”
The gorilla grumbled something under his breath. But finally relented and motioned for him to sit. At which point he gave a quiet breath of relief, letting himself lay back against the clear cage. ”You have five minutes to nap!”
Well it was better than nothing he guessed, he closed his eyes a bit and allowed himself to rest his eyes. Hell, who knew who would find a sleeping giant cute?

Aaron didn't know squat about caring for a human pet, no less a goldfish. He cocked his head, thinking how odd a sleeping giant human was. He was about to rap on the clear cage. Well, a human was different and his guardian wouldn't allow him to have a human pet.
"Hey, Rowan! Look at this one!" He said, calling him.
Rowan walked over to the gorilla and shook his head. "Five minutes to take a nap. He can have as long as he wants to sleep. Or even rest. Leave this area." Rowan talked with an air of authority.
And Aaron stared at the human and then read his bio. "They say his name is Tiny and he's tall. Likes being a pet. Do you think he'd be easy for me to handle, Rowan?" He asked.

Tiny popped an eye open and saw... A human? A human wanted to buy him? That was... Awkward.
He knew about ape raised humans that acted like apes. But he sure as hell didn’t want to be owned by one. How humiliating did that sound like? ”Errr sorry Rowan. We’re just trying to show off his size. It’s his major selling point because otherwise he’s pretty common,” the handler managed before addressing Aaron. ”No, no. Not a smart idea. This is all too experimental thus far, and while I understand your interest. We’ve been told to sell to biological apes only, least for the moment.”
He then added. ”Believe me if I could I would. Tiny’s having a rough go since he was sort of illegally raised as a lap dog. Only life he knows,” the gorilla replied honestly. Motioning to the boy. ”Based that raised him dumped him not long after the law got insitated and got paid hansomely.”
“It’s not that bad in here,” Tiny admitted dully. “My first cage when I was five was half this size. And the food sucks but at least it’s food.” He admitted as he stretched letting a layer of dust fall off his old clothes. “You’re our looking for your first pet? Good luck. I mean if they won’t sell you someone my age this place is full of adults.” He added as he motioned around with a finger.

Aaron was smart. "Then take a picture of him standing and post it on his for sale sign." He suggested as helpfully as possible. "I wonder if zaius would like to have a human puppy because.." He trailed off in thought. "Because he's young and already trained to be a lap dog, right? Even if illegal." Rowan agreed. "A picture is best. Not making him stand for long a duration and how would you like it if you stood from morning until they closed? You wouldn't like it at all, if you're a child." He shook his head. Of course, Zaius may be in the next room. "And Zaius, although he may not approve of any type of human, he would note how you treat children. The last you want in here is an angered council member." Then he glanced over to Tiny. "If no one buys him, I'll consider him." Aaron waved and moved down the line, looking around. He sure was hopeful.

Norrix grew extraordinarily exhausted from the constant reports coming in dealing with the new, secret law. He wasn't upset that it occurred but wasn't informed. What is the council thinking? Not notfying him? One that controls over half the protection of the place? Really?
So, Norrix decided to go visit one himself. It was late, he had recently dealt with all three humans living at his home, for now. One of them was his personal pet.
He's strangely calm as he walks in. He had a tablet in his grasp, recording the awful sightings within the cages. Did they accept this? His head shakes, sickened. How many of these are there? He would need to contact Zephram on this.
He turns down a random aisle, and a distinctive child caught his attention. The child appears to be very uncomfortable in the face, was he about to collapse? Norrix relieves a deep sigh, walking over.
"Handler?! What kind of handler are you that allows a young pup to stand long! I can view it in his expression as well as his body motions. You have five minutes to explain!" he demands.

"Oh General Norrix. I was just telling them not to do that." Rowan finally said. "I don't approve of this type of selling points."
Aaron paused and walked back over to them. "Hello, General Norrix." He said.
It's apparent that Rowan and Aaron hadn't ever been back to the children's area. So Rowan didn't know what was going on until he stepped into the back. He was only around adults. So it was surprising to know that Rowan would actually stand up for children. Well, some anyway.
"I told them to take a picture of him standing up and posting it on the cage. That way he would be more comfortable." He shook his head as he already knew Zephram was probably getting involved.

Holy crap was that the general?
Almost at once, Tiny stood at attention - having been taught to only respect the higher ups of society. The gorilla who had been his handler seemed to be sputtering out like a whimp now that he’d been started done by the likes of Norrix.
“Sir, if I can speak. They say it’s because I’m tall for my age and species,” he managed as quietly as he could - not trying to seem loud or demanding. “As someone who was raised as a lap dog, I’m used to... Unsavory conditions. But I was told this is the way it is.”
The gorilla wrapped his cage as he leapt back a little. ”Hush you! I’m just following orders!” the ape puffed a little, very annoyed by being called out by this point. ”I told them it was a bad idea but what am I supposed to do? It’s his only defining feature. He’s a typical brown haired, brown eyed human otherwise. Yet they expect me to sell him - so what do I go by? His height!”
With a snort he added. ”The puppy ain’t worth jack otherwise.”
Ok that one stung Tiny a bit. Did they always go and downplay anyone that didn’t have a defining feature? Well that was difficult it wasn’t like he had access to hair dye or color contacts. He kept his mouth shut though. Having been trained long ago that when an ape told you to shut up. You shut up.

Norrix softens his dark scowl when they darted over to the kind ape-raised human. "I'm glad you view this as wrong. Many others would turn their cheek, walking away. Obviously not wanting to be involved. I hate those certain apes. It only reveals bad examples." he shakes his head. "If you can, Aaron, or Rowan, please report it."
He walks closer to the handler, then hears Aaron speak again. His hand elevated, not silencing him, but to ease down. "Sometimes it's just better to report. Because they're likely to repeat it. I view action is better than convincing," he snorts.
He ceases a few paces from the startled handler. He started to literally act like a young ape, getting in serious trouble. Norrix snorts, very amused. His palm rose over to Tiny, "no, you may not speak," he firmly replies.
The handler's twisting words only caused him to scowl colder. He bends over coming very close to his face, purposely intimidating. "Quit trying to save yourself! Your actions are yours, you can't blame anyone else. You knew this was wrong, you could have prevented it," he draws back, still glaring. He snorts, shaking his head, "you make a poor handler. Complaining and whining, like a child."
He draws back, peering back up to Tiny. "Sit down, this worm isn't going to hurt you," he friendly confirms. He glowers back, "he doesn't even dare to run, let alone talk back."

"Oh. I don't believe Zaius and Maximus know about it." He wasn't really kept in the loop about their meetings. Actually, he couldn't remember hearing the apes talk about it. They wouldn't discuss much with him since he was still learning the tricks of the trade. "I wanted to see what all the talk was about...this new law." Then. "I hope Rowan's sister isn't made into a young 13 year old pet?"
Rowan shook his head. "No. She's like you." Then he looked towards the pet.
"Why can't he talk? He could disclose some information about his last owner?" He looked at Norrix. His curiosity could be the one to get him into trouble. A lot of trouble. But if he didn't ask questions, he'd never know anything about anything. "Is it because he's not ape-raised? But he's 15 and shouldn't he be considered an ape-raised human?"

Tiny was a bit surprised to watch the ape do this.
Yet he sat down as Norrix allowed him to. His eyes looking between the three apes. As the handler seemed very vexed and frustrated. Bidding at this point as he crossed his arms, throughly unamused at the ape’s notion. ”Why I never! I don’t care who you are, no one comes and questions me like that!” he snarled a bit. ”Now I’ve had quite enough of this. This isn’t a museum and this is not either of your jobs right now. Far as I’m concerned you can both shove it.”
He pointed a finger between the two of them. ”If you two care so damn much about the state of the damn mutt. Asking price is 500. But until then, he’s under my jurisdiction, sir,” he added to Norrix before turning to Tiny. ”Stand back up dammit. I didn’t pay that good for nothing former master of yours 100 for you not to turn me a profit.”
At this point, Tiny really was not sure what he should do. He had a feeling it was about to go down and he should remain sitting like Norrix said. And so he did. “It’s ok,” he managed. “Really, a fight isn’t necessary.”
He quietly noted that the ape had started to go for a cattle prod and scurried back. Now more than a little afraid. ”No arguments, I said get on your feet.” the gorilla said as coldly as possible.

"That's quite enough!" Maximus ordered, walking in. "You strike that boy, you are fired from this job and I'll make it harder for you to get another job in this city." He flashed a warning glare at the handler.
Then looked at the boy himself. "Remain seated." He ordered as he ripped the cattle prod from the gorillas grasp. He glanced over to Aaron. And then Rowan, and who ever else was in this area. "Any ape who strikes or hurts a child will go straight to prison. Is that clear? Is that understood?"

Aaron was surprised that Maximus would actually walk in. He was expecting Zaius but he glanced at his own palms. Was he in trouble? "Am I in trouble?" He questioned, still looking at his palms. "I was just looking around...here again...Making friends with Rowan?" Aaron was worried. "Is zaius going to be mad at me?"

Esmeralda wondered what all the fuss was about and decided to bid. "$800." How she managed to get that type of money as a school teacher was any apes guess. "Am I too late?" She asked, thinking. "to bid on a human?"
She was aware of the commotion from out in the adult section and came all the way to the back. It would be nice to have a boy at her home. "$800 and I'll take the boy off your hands." She did have a cabin outside the city and lived there mostly.

Zaius heard quite the complaining on the outside. He was on his way to retrieve Aaron, but the extraordinary screaming complaints from the cages was a great disturbance to apes around, especially at the time of day. He grumbles, walking through. He pauses at the least expected to be here. He glares, looking around. "What's going on here? Is there a reason why the general is here, Maximus, and you, Aaron?" He observes the strange occurrence. "Why so many here? Isn't this a bit awkward?"

Aaron looked at him. "I was going to help Rowan purchase a human and see what humans were around. We both heard voices and came back here to see a boy standing in this cage and was ordered for a five minute sleep break and then stand up again. He was so cute sleeping and Rowan came over. He was thinking of buying him since he was trained. Then General Norrix came in and he got very mad for the treatment of a child and then Maximus came by, and then Esmeralda came by. I didn't want to see a human be mistreated just because he was tired of standing and- " It was probably a bad idea to say that. "I thought there was a rule against the mistreatment of children."
Aaron thought about it being too much information or mixed up? He was trying his best to answer the questions he had correctly. "A rule about - children as pets being mistreated? Something like that?" Well, he had a lot to learn...or was he in the wrong place at the wrong time?
