@norrix Bartu @galen
Melanie was always in a state of shock. The noises terrified her. Even if she were locked in a cage in Galen's home. She would hear 'guns' going off somewhere and she huddled in the corner of her cage for many days. She wished she was with Carol and found herself missing her more.
Since Galen was away, she was in the care of a caretaker- who couldn't seem to interest her in any activity. Not even having a day away from the Gorilla Army base seemed to help her. The caretaker knew that the human was afraid. The caretaker was the one who managed to drag Melanie from her corner to a different place.
The caretaker knocked on Norrix's office door, while dragging the human by her collar and forgoing the leash. She hoped he could help with her since he had a human pet. Perhaps she needed a new home. "Norrix? I have Galen's human. Something's wrong with her." She said. "She won't leave her cage, won't eat, and won't even take a bath."
Melanie offered no fight. No resistance. Nothing at all.

Bartu was present in the same office as his overseer. He was conversing a few things with Norrix on the recent mission he'd assign them. Well, he was early. The other two, however he wasn't sure where they were. He rolls his head over his shoulders, scowling down at the dead-to-the-world human. He scoffs. "Then she's worthless to us," he shifts his annoyed glance back over to Norrix. "Surely these kinds of animals need to be placed into the Target Practice?" His hand waves overhead. "Bah."

The caretaker rolled her eyes. "I don't think so. She's Galen's, but he's not here. Maybe she misses Galen? Or she's missing someone else?" She didn't know that humans would be revealing that much emotion. "Maybe the noises are frightening her and I could take her off the base until he returns from his mission."
Then the caretaker gave a glare at Bartu. "That isn't a solution to every single animal problem. She hasn't really disobeyed anything I have said so why punish her for being upset or sad or missing her owner?"

Norrix winces as his daily interruption from others had occurred once again. He sighs, lowering his pen he was using to write down notes. He wasn't one that enjoyed having humans in his personal office.
His palm rose towards Bartu. "That's enough, Bartu," he growls, lightly barring a fang. His head shakes, dropping his hand. "This situation was appointed to me."
He walks around the table, nearing Melanie. A tender finger rested under her chin, drawing if upward. "Would you like to explain why the sudden dead-movement? Being silent doesn't help. Go on and share," he kindly instructs.

Melanie offered only her brief silence, as she wondered whether to tell them or not. She hadn't had a healthy vibrant look.
"I think Galen used to 'comfort' her. I heard her screaming bloody murder one night and I thought she was dying. When I went to check on her, she was so pale." The caretaker said. "I don't know if the activity of the base stirred a memory?"
Melanie was exhausted. "Galen isn't going to come back." She swallowed. "He hasn't come back for a while. I have bad dreams and when I see this ape, I think he's never going to come back." It sounded foolish and it was coming back as missing Galen dearly. It also showed that Melanie had bonded somewhat with the young gorilla. "He's not there to protect me."

Norrix scratched slowly across his scalp, unsure how to approach this dealing. It was very fresh. He would just need a moment to ponder on it. His fingers carried to his chin, then he glances downward.
"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk." He glares at Bartu for a minute, as he remained annoyed. "Bartu, I have a task for you, since you desire to be in the 'spotlight' go gather the other comrades here."
After he focuses back on Melanie. He sighs. "You do realize that Galen went to go somewhere for me, even suspect things in secret," he tries to explain to Melanie.
"You need another human to mingle with." He averts his calm stare on the caretaker. "Have to take this animal to the vet nurse nearby?"

Melanie knew that! The caretaker told her that daily. But she didn't know that the caretaker would drag her out to Norrix. She didn't like any of this at all. She also didn't want to go to target practice and endure that trauma once again! Oh no! More apes to get her and take her out to the range? The place she feared the most. Nightmares of the entire time with Silas and the constant punishments...what's to stop this ape from doing that anyway?
Melanie shrugged as she didn't know what to say about that. "Yes?" She said in a low tone. She left out any more response.
The caretaker said, "I did take her to the vet. They said that she wasn't adjusting."

Bartu grimaces at the task. Really? That kind of task? Seriously...that's a fresher's job. His head drops, figuring Melanie would either grin or smirk from 'winning'. He, however, didn't focus. His head bounces, "yes sir." With that, he turns glaring at Melanie then departs.
Once out of the 'office' he seeks it popular places for @rowan, @galen, and whoever was free. Or seemed good to gather.

But Melanie hadn't really done anything to warrant his glare. She chewed on a fingernail as she had recognized that glare- coming from her own father. It only made her wish to hide. As usual, Carol was always blamed for things not going the way her father wanted. The same glare would be given to her sister instead of her.

His eyes rolls, noting the actions to the petrified human. Perhaps, Bartu was too 'childish' to maintain his composure and duty. Norrix shortly became oblivious to it. Besides, it's wasn't that vital.
He sighs, gripping the pot edge of his young bonsai tree. Fiddling with a fragile end branch by his finger. What a strange situation this was. He'd normally have a different section do it.
His arms rose, "that's it? Not adjusting? What else?" He grips his forehead. "Have you got her to mingle with others of her species?" he asks, then adds, "not all are rough."

The caretaker was supposed todo things with Melanie to ensure she was adjusting.
"I think what happened in the hunt may have hurt her somehow. Someape may have traumatized her."
Melanie continued to chew on her fingernail and alarm bells rang in her head, signaling danger. She was going to Target practice for not adjusting. She wanted to hide somewhere.
"I personally thought you could help her. I have tried other humans. She does talk to them. But she hides all the time. "
