BartuphoenixzekeSerenityZeke walked into the Gorilla's Army base. He was posing as a routine vet visit to a human. Zeke and Serenity were walking towards a group of cages, each with a single human. None of them were Allie. Now where was Allie? Zeke didn't know. As he passed row after row, he found Allie, sitting in a cage.
Allie wasn't expecting any company and when she saw Serenity and Zeke, she kind of scurried over to the door. "Please? Get me and Connor out of here." She was begging them. "They have him on Target Practice and they 'gave me a swimming lesson'. I think he's going to die." She said. "I'll never see my husband again. Bartu wants to send him away on a spy mission and -if he fails, Bartu says I'm going to 'die'? I don't want to die."
Zeke was feeling sympathetic and knew she was afraid. "We'll see what we can do."

Bartu had a deadly rifle into his grip when he detected one of the three vets he highly despised. He elevated and directed it at him. "Prove your access in here. Back here is only used for privilege apes," he growls, shaking his head. "You're not taking my human. That little brat is lying, he's not at Target Practice."

Zeke wasn't expecting the deadly rifle pointed at him and narrowed his eyes. "Lower your gun. Maybe I should get Zephram to come here. You took Serenity's charge from our care and we already went through the council regarding this human. She is to remain with the vets charged with her care. You're lucky I don't involve the authorities on taking her. That gun only proves that gorillas are trigger happy and are willing to shoot any ape that comes by to examine a human."

Allie heard what Bartu said about her being a brat and lying. "I'm not a liar! I was raised to tell the truth! He said he was taking Connor to Target Practice and ordered his 'best friend' to take me to a swimming lesson!" She wasn't crazy. And she didn't like being in a cage that was so barren. It had nothing to sit on or lay down on that would ease the growing ache in her legs and if she did sit, it was on her knees. She was standing now, holding onto the bars with her hands. At the sight of the vets, she thought she would be going with them. Connor was probably dead.
"I know what Target Practice is! Connor is dead by now." She said. "Anyone who goes to Target Practice dies. It's the talk here all the time! The hunters in our village do that when they need to learn how to shoot and perfect their skills. They shoot targets and call it that."

He completely ignored the human calling and screaming out. He's eyes rolled his eyes, not even bothered by Zeke's that. "Pah.. Go on, get your precious ape over here." He locks his gun away to his side. "And, why are you assuming me? Anyone could," he darkly grins, walking away. "Females that are able to carry without dying after giving birth are quite pricy, and wanted. Besides, you have no proof." He snorts, exiting.

Zeke cast a look at Allie momentarily. "Gah! You and your gorillas are too 'brutal' and too 'proud' to take note of any 'signs or symptoms' of any unusual thing that goes on after a premature birth!" Zeke growled as he walked over to Allie. Fortunately, he wasn't angry with her. She did nothing wrong.
Before he could fully depart, he said, "And have you ever considered her mental health after that birth? Had she stayed in our office we could have dealt with it."

Allie found the vets to be more compassionate and the first words out of her mouth were, "Put me down." She would only request something like that if she weren't so upset over Connor. "I have nothing here. Not even Connor." She believed that Connor was gone. Forever. She sighed.

He snorts, even a small cackle came out. "Ha! No! that's your and the vets job, here. If we did, we wouldn't be occupied with real, needed work." his hand waves over his head. "Your weak, mutt, ever since I had you. you've been nothing but weak," he looks over at her. "Do it, probably saving some of us the pain to watch you." His eyes roll, then glared. "Get your job done and get out!" He tells, exposing his fangs, "quit blaming me! Go walk a human or something."

Zeke shook his head as he heard that the gorilla didn't care whether or not the human was good or upset. Equally, he was disappointed in Bartu. "If you aren't interested in her, then why keep her here?!" Zeke could only examine her by physical. "She's weak because she has no enrichment, food, or water, nor a place to sit down except on a metal floor which she won't because she can't sit on the floor."
It was an observation of his to notice the conditions the human was in. Blaming him? He was not. He was blaming him for not 'being a more caring gorilla'. But little could he do or make Bartu make her comfortable.

Allie heard everything and she was far from weak but that didn't stop her thinking of what it would be like to not be in this cage. She'd give a months' supply of food for comfort and that bed. They had beds in the vet's office and none of them were cold.

Zeke didn't want to leave and attempted to scan her with his device and didn't tell Bartu anything. He began to note some 'new changes' but none of them related to carrying. He opened the cage and drew her out by her arm. He shook his head. "Tsk tsk."

Bartu ragingly exposed his fangs at the wrong accusations. "You're wrong! That brat has more nutrition than the zoo!" He easily mellows. "It's the requirements of humans. They go through a lot." He snarks, "examine the mutt again." He huffs, "idiot."
He drew his gun and fired a sleeping dart at Zephram. "I need that female for that relentless mate of hers to obey."

Zeke shook his head in astonishment. He would always give snacks out to the humans who were well. Water included, or juice. Something to drink other than water. Humans did get tired of the same old same old. "Snacks equals food. Extra food to keep her strength up." He informed.
As he was about to scan her without scanning the bars, something bit him in the side and he fell to the side, the scanning device falling to the ground and the device shattered into three pieces.
Allie stood there, looking surprised because Zeke hadn't done anything to her but express concern. She found herself kneels by him and pulling out the dart. She sniffed the end and crinkled her nose. Soft snores were coming from Zeke, but she tried to wake him up. She frowned and shook him. Zeke didn't wake up. She hated gorillas. She hated being in this place. She sat down and picked up Zeke's head and decided to wait for him to wake up. "Go away." She hissed through her teeth. She believed Bartu was out of his mind. "Leave me alone."

Bartu shakes his head. "Clearly, you're not listening.." he huffs, while becoming annoyed. His arm flailed out, "these humans on this base recieve all sorts of nourishment. Are you that absent here?" he sighs. "I guess it's other vets who come here. " He waited for Zeke to pass out, then he roughly grasps Allie by the throat. He drags her over, calling over two troops. He glares over, "take this rat to the other base, by the spring," he orders.
The burly ape nods, grasping Allie by the arm, hauling away.
Bartu looks down at Zeke, grinning. "Foolish chimp." He glances over at the other ape, awaiting orders. "I want you to hit Zeke on the head by a heavy fruit, then drag him to the jungle. Have his shattered device next to him, smashed by the fruit." He snorts, "then call the emergency about two minutes after."

"Clearly, you're not listening to me." Gorillas! They never will listen to a vet's advice either. More food meant more food. Well, guess he'll just find out the hard way. "Don't listen to me then on extra food. Had she stayed at the vet's office a little longer, it would have been dealt with immediately."
Zeke was out like a light, unaware of everything going on.
Allie was sitting near Zeke when her throat was grasped. Her heart-rate quickened as she was dragged to another burly ape she didn't know. It was going to be detrimental if the vets could not find her. She hadn't even seen one since arriving. Exception of today. Allie knew that scanning was important. Since the device was destroyed, all the evidence of her health was gone from today's record.
Being hauled off from the cages here, wasn't on her mind. Base by the spring? She didn't know where that was. Her arm wasn't warm to the burly ape's touch. Her arm was cold to the touch. She couldn't keep her body temperature and when she was out in the sunshine, she flinched and blinked at the sunlight. The sunlight bothered her and tried to shield her eyes from it. "Urgh! Ouch! Let me go!" She demanded. "You're hurting me!" Well, that was true. The grip was too- hard on her bony arm. "I'm starving!" The smell of the mess hall encouraged her to react. "I'm hungry now."
She didn't care and tried to pull and yank her arm out of his grip and dug her feet into the ground.
