Why should she ever enter her 'room' and can't get out at will? There was no way that Amelia was just going to 'stay and sit in her 'small tiny cramped room' all through the entire night. No way! At all! She overcame her fear and forgot all about the being 'dealt' with. Besides, she was an adult and capable of making her own decisions as an adult. No ape will tell her what to do and what she couldn't do.
She did an about face and walked away from the door. She found a 'toy' and tossed it inside. The door shut, apparently triggered when a human would enter and then couldn't leave. Hopefully, this would work and she could avoid any eyes. She then scrambled through the hall, away from the two apes who were possibly in deep discussion and hopefully not paying any attention to her. She was quiet and didn't even make a noise as she scrambled away. There were other ways to leave. Perhaps through a door on the left. She stopped in front of it and looked around for a few minutes. Not wasting any time, she pushed open a door and entered the room. She took a glance around and saw there was a lot of equipment she didn't recognize and explored the contents of the room, even as well as noting that the drawers were all locked or had buttons on them. Now that meant there was something there that could be used against them. Why have every drawer locked if it weren't to be used against humans like her?
She found a glass full of cotton balls. She reached out and grabbed it. She dragged it toward her and opened the lid. She picked up some cotton balls and squeezed them. She grabbed a handful and practically tossed them up into the air. Curiosity was more her game than trouble. The cotton balls would drift all around in the cool air that seemed to have turned on...from above. Amelia didn't know what was more fun. Playing around with cotton balls or watching them drift through the air like giant snowballs. She kept tossing them into the air once they hit the floor.
