Melanie didn't count on another slap because she was talking to Galen and not Silas. His hand came out of nowhere, as she wasn't really paying much attention to him. She became unbalanced and fell to the floor. Her face was going to be swollen shut tomorrow and bruised. Actually, it wouldn't surprise her if she was swollen shut by her lips.
Melanie saw a resemblance to the alpha in her life- and she kept her silence. No ape seemed to notice that she was starting to flinch every single time an ape came near her. Even Galen, who was trying to help her.

Galen loomed over Melanie since she fell. He drew a hand to help, but she flinched. "You know I'm not going to hurt you, right?" He was sounding a little worried because it was meaning that she was associating hands as means of pain. Galen was beginning to think that she wasn't about to be a good fit for him because once humans associated hands as means to hurt, it was hard to domesticate them. He even tried to pet her head.

Maxwell grunts as he watched Melanie getting slapped and then flinching every single time Galen tried to do something helpful for her. He noticed that one of his paints had oozed out of his pocket, onto the armor, staining it dark red hue. He was so happy that worked. Now Silas had dark red hue all over his armor. He didn't care about what Silas would do to him since his armor was becoming stained dark red hue.
"But the council would grill him for dinner and eat him alive," figuratively thinking of course.

Rowan smirked as she ducked, because she was aware of what glares and what Silas intended to do. He continued to pull her after them, in an effort to teach her that he also meant business. "Don't mess with any of us or your life will continue to be miserable. Even more miserable if you don't learn your lesson."

Venus sighed in great relief as she was successful in dodging the incoming harsh smack. But that relief ended by the time Rowan yanked her again. She yelped, glaring over at him for a minute. She unwillingly followed. Her head shook as he explained the future happenings if she was disobedient.

Melanie didn't like being petted as she believed that hands meant pain. Then she points to the reddish ape. "He slaps me every single time I talk to you and hollers at me." She was speaking low and saw no way out of this situation. "And my face hurts."
Melanie was one unhappy camper. "He wants to treat me like Venus. He said so."

Esmeralda looked at Melanie. "The girl is only acting out because she misses Carol. You cannot fault her for all that's happened. Both girls are pretty close now and each took care of each other. They made promises to stick together no matter what.. What would the President say if an alpha hurt harmless innocent children?"
Esmeralda noticed that Melanie was flinching every time Galen tried to help her. "She's reverting." She explained. "into herself and won't let any ape help her."

Silas snorted at Melanie. Was she really attempting to play the innocent card, with being a hopeless victim. His head shook, highly amused by Melanie.
"Pah!" He angrily hollered, wavering his paw away. "Face the facts Melanie! You were warned not to curse and rudely hollered. I'm tired of your mouth, and not obeying. Don't you dare play 'I don't know what you're talking about." His head shook, adding' "Just talking, no you were badmouthing once again. It's my hand you should fear."
He grimaced in annoyance, sneering to Melanie, "you brought this on yourself, clearly your thick-headed, or actually dumb."
His eyes slowly rolled at Esmeralda's assumption, which only caused more dark humor. "Bah! I don't care, she's been warned three times and she keeps provoking. I'm sure you would do the same to your nephews, of course not as harsh as they are apes."
Once again, Venus glared at Rowan for a short time. Glaring is still glaring. An unexpected backhand attempted to smack her.

It wouldn't be complicated to sense Silas's move to Venus. Especially when he became unusually quiet, especially when he wasn't completely done with scolding. He hadn't done Maxwell yet. With haste she coward her head to evade Silas's ruthless hand. After, she elevated her head. She'd hate to waste more needed energy.

Melanie didn't want to be smacked around again for expressing what was on her mind. She gave a glare directed to him. She didn't care if she was smacked for giving him a glare. Well, what more could he do? Her face was already sore from getting slapped or backhanded.
Fear his hand? She'd fear all hands anyway. All hands were capable of hurting them. "All hands cause pain anyway." She wouldn't allow anyone to pick her up or comfort her. She was learning hands equaled more pain than care. "They're never gentle anyway."
Melanie looked around, for some opening to run. But finding no way. She was still lying on the floor and hic'd. Then she smirked as she noticed that something was wrong with his armor. It was awesome seeing that red paint.

"Oh don't worry about the glares. I see them all the time from the humans in the cages. This pale human knows and recognizes your body language well. She's been trained."
Then Rowan looked at Maxwell. He had a smug look on his face, or was pretending nothing was wrong. He had been very silent. Almost like he was scheming.
Then he saw Melanie smirking and looking at Silas. Whatever she was planning, it wouldn't work. "Whatever you're planning, won't work with any of us, Melanie. You lie like the others. Give it up. You're not going to get far." He coolly warned.

He had a smug look on his face, but Melanie had seen it, but not Rowan. Hopefully, Silas was too preoccupied to notice the red paint marking his armor. It was wonderful to note that the red paint would be hard to get out of his armor. Unless he shined it with silver paint. He had been abnormally silent, but deadly with paint.
If he was going down, so was he.

Venus winced at the glare brought to her by Rowan. She grimaced, grasping the leash as she was hauled. Her head shook, pulling back the leash as if fighting it a little, but it was useless to Rowan's strength. Her toes occasionally implanting in the ground. The tighter he pulled the harsher she fought back. She'd not the defiance lowering in the few humans. To encourage them to not give in, she fought the leash.

Rowan felt the tugs on the leash, and snickering. "I wouldn't do that if I were, Gladiator. It's useless and foolish." He was warning. "You show any more defiance, the other two will feel Silas' wrath more. The more you act up, the more punishment they get."
Rowan knew what she was attempting to do and knew it would end in a result none of the two wanted. Maxwell continued to give a smug look. Had he done something and they didn't know about it? Well, when they reached their destination, they would soon find out.

With haste, Venus ran around, forcing the middle of the leash around his neck, and harshly jerked back. She gripped her side to prevent a tough pull. She did not believe Rowan one second. Silas was only smacking because they were defiant like a true wild human. She kept a tight hold as her energy depleted to nothing. d
