Maximus snorted, slightly in annoyance. Young handlers have to learn a lot when it comes to wild humans. He looked at Cobra and Melody, and then at Rowan. "We can see if she's cage aggressive. That's the only way to find out if she's not wild."

Cobra couldn't help himself, but what Rowan said, was humorous. He coldly laughed, shaking his head numerous times. "Oh, oh Handler, how silly of you." He continued to laugh but spoke in occasional pauses. "You, you are surely not aware of my career are you?" He placed his small hand on the large shoulder of Rowan. "I'm a scientist, and from my appearance, I'm not too nice."
He looked over at Maximus. He shook his head at one of the high council. "It really doesn't matter council member Maximus, because where she's going, she will freak anyway."

Noella did not like the sound of that and struggled. She didn't care for this ape and went to bite him, to show she didn't want or care for that. But his arm was out of reach of her mouth. Now she made a noise and then screamed, "NO!"

Maximus was considering whether or not to rescue this human. The papers weren't signed and thought about using his stature to obtain her by either outbidding or offering a high price to pay off Cobra. He was cold, cruel, and relentless. He would not stop at anything to keep her as she was wild. "It would matter if the human had no signs of the plague or sterility that all humans have."

Rowan nodded. "Yes. I do know what work you've done and thought you would be best for this human because you're a chimpanzee and they're always not cruel or mean as most are." The papers weren't signed yet and money was already laid out on the table . He wondered if he should've sold the human to Cobra or not. "High Council Member Maximus may be right. What if the chance that this human has no signs of that sterility plague. She would be better off with the Vet than the Lab. Many humans go into the labs and are never heard from again. Sad fate for a young pup." Rowan said. "A very young pup."

"Rowan, is it? You sold the human to Cobra, there's nothing really you can do. And no vet has arrived to take her. A scientist is closer to a vet."

"But why subject a human to unnecessary testing and experiments? Surely there are other ways than cutting up a human and subjecting them to harsh experiments."

Rowan didn't think so, but kept it to himself. "So, she gets to die in name of science?" He asked. "Many humans are reaching extinction and you think scientific experimentation is a good thing on a probable female that may be the key to curing all humans from the sterility plague?" Rowan had studied that some are carriers of a cure. Others are not. "There's too few humans that may cure that sterility plague. What would Cobra do if this human dies?"

"Possibly donate her body to science. It's just a human or are you developing a like for humans? Clearly, you shouldn't take it seriously and let the human go." Maximus said. "Why shouldn't this feral human go with Cobra? He really likes feral wild humans and she exhibited feral behavior."

"A human that is afraid will." Rowan countered. "Is that all you both think about? Science and experimentation? Surely, Cobra has better humans suited for this purpose than buying house pets for lab work and the like. Today will probably be the last day she ever gets to see a tree or feel fresh air on her face."

Cobra smirked when Maximus fought for the Scientist to keep her. Rowan wasn't even aware what Cobra actually did and treated his humans, some anyway. He'd probably heard of the horrid rumours.
He snorted, shaking his head. "Foolish handler you have no idea what I do indoors of my occupation. You and every other hunan-caring apes, along with ape human-right activists." He huffed.
Cobra viciously smiled, cupping his hands behind his back. He highly walked over to Rowan. "Now, now, Rowan. You're not arguing with one of the high council are you?"

Rowan realized his mistake. "I just want what's best for the humans I sell. Including this one. It doesn't make me a human lover. It makes me a better handler if I question the intentions of all the owners."

"Oh he's fine. He's just young and has possibly heard a mix of gossip from some outlets." He said, not at all offended. "To question motives is a smart move on his part. If he doesn't question, he'll never learn."
Maximus looked at Cobra as he spoke. "No matter. The human is rightfully yours." He wasn't that cold to apes and ape raised human children. "He still has a lot to learn from his experiences. Did I hear this is your first job, Rowan?"

Noella saw the opportunity present itself. The moment she was let go was the moment she could try an escape. She knew every exit except one and took the chance to flee. She didn't want to become a lab rat. She watched apes and humans leave from one exit and she didn't hesitate to bolt through it.
When she exited the cages, she was not even able to comprehend the size of the city...The noise- the smells, and just about everything in the city presented opportunities to hide from all. She ran as fast as her legs could carry her. The city might have been huge and she could get lost easily.
