Phoenix glanced over to the ape that lost hope. "You can't be serious, can you? I mean they haven't clarified, and you already created a sad assumption." He frowned. "Why?" He curiously questioned.
His eyes popped over to the backdoor of the tribunal room. "Besides, I was observing two of the council, who he was going back to discuss. What? I don't know. But we're at a break."

Serenity was under the impression that they'd lose the human and it was a lost cause. "Maximus wants the human." She finally said. "He likes to use them in science experiments..so the human would be a lost cause."

Maximus looked over to Zaius and spoke. "Not if any of the reporters know of our decision to allow some temporary rights for the human. It wasn't going to be full rights of the ape raised humans we have in the city. Just the right to choose an owner."
Then he glanced over to Kratos. "This human will have two options open to her. Not three or four. Just a choice between Bartu or Serenity. Then once her choice is made, those rights to choose or make another choice is revoked."

Kratos rubbed his forehead, becoming strained over the matter. His head shook as Maximus responded to Zaius's question. "Ugh,...you're giving me a headache." He complained stroking the sides of his temples. "Maximus, Zaius, why is it so hard to be committed to our ancient laws? I mean seriously we've been at it for so long, why question it?" He asked.
His head firmly shook, pounding his fists on the edge of the table. "No! Maximus, we can not do that. Others, yes others will beg for rights for theirs, and soon it will become a common thing to go by. I've seen a majority of times. They will use that dog as an example to use as leverage." He grumbled.
He rose from his chair, glaring at each of his members. "I'm ashamed of you, especially you Maximus. You're in the high council, how could you be the one suggesting?"

"It's not questioning it. It's called bending the law in the slightest degree." Maximus felt like he was losing ground and he never really felt that way before. Now he knew how Serenity felt. "Fine. I'm out. No further input from me."
It seemed none of his suggestions were a good idea. His latest suggestion was blown off and it was a useless suggestion anyway. The dog wouldn't be used as leverage.

Zaius rolled his eyes at Maximus's childish behavior and placed his paws on the table edge. "That's enough Maximus, you are not an ape child, are you? So straighten up your attitude, and your posture." He roughly ordered. "I suggest reading over the laws once again. Bending is breaking it. Just like an ape stealing a coin and placing it back, still trying to bend, but crossing the law." He stated. His finger tapped on the edge. "Now, besides your little outrage, I agree with dealings with the human. We didn't disagree with that, having her further tested and monitored by vets."

"I've already read those laws thrice over, but we do have power to judge and sentence." Maximus said. "And offer as many suggestions as possible that would either benefit apes. We have to consider the human's health, the human's age, and where this human springs from. Assuming that the human has knowledge - she may be associated with the renegades."

"She's with the renegades she would put to death, period," he clarified, returning to his seat. "Please, Maximus, return and we can discuss this without outrages," he glanced over to Kratos, "and being childish." He added, peering back to Maximus. "whether they are clever, hunters, shamen, they are all under the law, no matter what. Unless they are ape-raised. So, she doesn't matter if she is or was pregnant. She just like any other humans, is under the law." He stated, clutching the back of the chair. "However, we can discuss better customs for her, as she possibly could carry full-term, or miscarry after so long."

Maximus returned. "She is no renegade because she would have mentioned it in the beginning. Better customs are better than putting her into more stressful situations. If she were, she wouldn't be compliant and obedient."

Kratos rose his palm to signal the others to hush a moment. "Alright, you two, that's enough." He softly mentioned, waving his fingers down to the table. "As Zaius stated, we need to mellow down and discuss it. However, we're at a recess." He reminded, taking rise from the seat.
"Ugh." He stroked the edge of the table. "So, Maximus you stated you'd like the human at the labs and being monitored by vets? Is that your suggestion? Or only option?" He questioned, leaning onto the table, chairs away from Maximus. "if not, then express what else."

"A collaborative effort between Cobra and Phoenix or Serenity, if she wishes to participate." He reiterated. "It would help compare the twos' findings and see what each of them see that the other misses. A cooperation between the two and maybe both can come up with viable clues as to how long she can carry."

Zaius grimaced when they suggested an odd plan that would provide more comfort for the human. His head shook, lightly tapping on the edge to receive attention. "Might I place my opinion on your discussion. I don't think Cobra gets along with any other ape, but works for his own good. Am I wrong?"

Maximus recalled that. "Yes. He likes to work alone." He conceded. "Maybe two vets should. We could assign two vets to oversee the tests. Then report back to us their findings." He also added. "Cobra has his own agenda at times. He took a new human named Noella. Now that one dog is a such a spitfire."

Kratos shrugged, peering over to Dr. Zaius, "I don't think we fully know unless we completely ask the two." Kratos informed, standing up to his feet, slightly turning. "Come, let us go out and discuss it with the group outside. I can have one of my guards go, and retrieve the head scientist." He clarified, walking over to the main backdoor.
"We can't confirm it as I'd like to discuss this during the tribunal, besides we're at recess. Once they see us enter, well, they'll know it has ended." He added before opening the door, and meandering through. "it would be wrong to come up with a solution during a break."
