Maxwell and Melanie were both still on the run from Silas and Galen. Knowing if Silas caught them both, it would be torture or worse. There had to be a way to get Silas and Galen off their tails. It meant a lot if they managed to slip away without having a problem or a hitch.

Silas wasn't just peeved, his temper was exceedingly high with anger and frustration. There's no way to cool it off after this rough, painful incident. He grasped the rope that was intertwined with his gear and harshly yanked on it. With his might, the horse would be jerked, and that's when Galen came to ease it. Because it would have easily restarted to bolt.
As Galen helped, he gently shoved him away. "There's no time for that," he snarled, leaping to his sore feet, "I'm going hunting." The crevice of his mouth shifted into a sadistic vicious smile, adding frightful anger in his eyes. "Regardless of the owner." He stomped over roughly grabbing various hunting weapons. He glanced over the tall steed. "It's not going to be pretty.
With that harsh information, Silas trailed after the two humans that scurried for their lives. He would track swiftly by scent, as they were the only two humans in the jungle for now. Plus, he was so into their familiar aroma it wouldn't be hard to trail them.
As if to taunt Maxwell and Melanie, he fired a gun skywards. "You might scurry away like a mouse, but the cat always has its scent."

Galen
Galen was surprised by his anger. But was worried about his human's plight. It was just a human instinct to flee. He wouldn't give up until one of them was dead.
Maxwell
Well, to say in the least, running was starting to take an affect. He always knew it wouldn't be long before his condition decided to intervene and he'd be caught first. He looked at Melanie, knowing he would slow her down tremendously....Then a shot rang out and he urged himself forward. Forcing himself to run. He couldn't speak but could push Melanie forward.
Melanie
She saw his struggling to keep up and even waited for him. He wasn't breathing well at all. But then a shot rang out and he forced himself to go forward, pushing her forward. She ran faster hoping he was keeping up, but when she turned around to look for him-
Maxwell
He had fallen down, and was scrambling up into a tree now as soon as he was capable. It would give her a little...Then she ran back to him- looking for him. She glanced up and saw him in a tree. He was concealed. She climbed the tree. "What are you doing? He's going to kill both of us."
Maxwell looked down. "He's going to do more than kill us."

As he patted her head she grimaced in disgust. She smacked his paw away. "Don't use those useless tactics on me,"she growls, then glanced around for the others, while keeping an eye on Rowan. "You wouldn't understand the reasons why I caused myself them. I'm not oblivious to what and why I do it."

His paw was smacked away but that didn't hurt. "Would you like to know something, human? Not all Overlords are all bad. Some of them are 'helpful' like the chimpanzee named Esmeralda who seemed to be very concerned for the two other females that had been in the camp. She acted like she knew them, but hasn't owned a human. So perhaps, Esmeralda nursed one of those females back to health." Rowan said, not really twisting his words. After all, he had a human sister. "Of course, you would have made my young sister very upset had you killed me. And she's human by the way. And I work with humans all the time. You're just a little different and have learned only the cruelty of the Overlords. What was your owner like? Was he ever cruel to you?"

Galen followed Silas, but he had no horse. So he climbed the trees and went tree to tree. He could move fast through the trees. His sense of smell captured the humans' scent easily. He headed in that direction.

Venus watched him have no big deal when his hand was smacked away. She glared over, rolling her eyes. "I'm aware that there's better apes than others. Plenty of them had been kinder at the rings. so I've seen both perspectives." she answered in a statement. She furrowed her brows, "Who said anything about death? unconcious, maybe," she darkly smirked. "Human sister? That's odd, and they're okay with your job in dealing with humans?" She adjusted her sitting position. Her brows furrowed deeper, responding, "he? how are you aware of the gender? But yes, he was harsh with training and punishing."

"Well, one can never know how far a gladiator will go to harm an ape that wronged them." Rowan spoke. "I've seen humans come and go where I work. Some are even returned to the cages. Not many of them care or know I have a human sister. She was orphaned as her parents both died from an unknown cause. My family took her in without question. Ever since, she's been living with us."
"I just figured most gladiator trainers are a he. Most of them are. Sometimes, I wish some of them weren't so harsh with training. I mean you gladiators do all the work and fights. It should make them happy when they earn money."

Silas scurried through the darkened jungle, crushing each ground plant to ripping large tree limbs that blocked his path. There was nothing preventing him from hunting down these two humans. Occasionally he would wince and growl with every branch that smacks into his face.
As he journeyed angrily through the woods, the scent of Maxwell and Melanie expanded. Then his ears suddenly caught Galen swaying tree to tree. Why was he trailing along? He doesn't like rough punishments, does he? For a moment he pondered on why then was forced to focus back on hunting after getting swatted by another fat limb.
Eventually, he eased his footing, listening to the sounds. The humans' scent was very powerful, and he didn't intend to frighten them. Gradually, he approaches near the tree where the two were nestled in. Quietly he glances skywards, intently seeking through the narrow to thick darkened branches.

They were both nestled in the tree, not aware of anything below them. One of them was settling in for sleep while the other stayed awake. Melanie was huddled against the thick trunk, lightly snoozing.
Maxwell looked around, rubbing his head. If no ape found them, good. They would be exiled.
Galen wasn't there to intervene. He just wanted to help Silas as much as possible. Perhaps he didn't need his help at all. So he began to make his way back to camp.

He slowly returned a short while later with a stun gun. If nothing else worked of course.

It might be best for Galen to fry them with the stun gun before Silas crushed them in his grasp. He believed Galen had returned where Rowan was patrolling the albino. For a few moments, he allowed and observed the two nestle comfortably in the tree. Awe, do those two adore each other?
he viciously cackled in his head, remaining to observe a little longer. Evilly he grapples the base of the tree, and viciously trembles it. "Here doggie, doggie," he cruelly taunted from below. He loved to startle his catch, sometimes bringing them to a run was better.
Then, the upper trees rattled not too far where the humans were. Silas curled his fingers, a little vexed. He didn't mind, the upset hunter was honestly exhausted from the entire ordeal.

The two of them were jostled awake as their tree was viciously trembled. They hadn't realized what dangers lurked down in the jungle. Especially when they heard rustling. Both of them were silent, but amber eyes glinted in the moonlight. Maxwell gestured to Melanie stay to quiet and still. Not only was there an ape, there was an actual liger in the tree with them. It had been sleeping and waking him up- was dangerous.
The hunter was foolish. Nonetheless, set himself up for a meal.

Galen saw the amber eyes. It was the eyes of a liger and they didn't care what you were. You were just a tasty morsel. He couldn't believe what he saw. His human and Rowans' human were a branch under it. But the liger's eyes weren't on them. It was on Silas. He couldn't speak or warn. Then the Liger would attack him.

Venus impishly grinned, peering up at Rowan. She darkly whispers, "death, might be the answer." Both her arms encased around her knees. "Mm, sounds like the humans in the cages have a better custom than the rings. I mean, they're not alone and neglected. Have company, nourishment. She shook her head, trying to process that an ape had a human as a sibling. She blinked a few times. "How old was your....sister when she came into the family?" she questions as he continued to talk. "Most are." She laughs, rolling her eyes, "Ha! Once you please them, they expect more and more. To the point that when you began to lose, you're punished for failing. So harsh? Bah, apes only know the surface." She sighed, dropping an arm. "Why do you think they get retired early? Suddenly getting placed on death row, even though it's what they've known all their life. Just because you have sissy apes that can't handle, and we're too 'feral'. Use for the purpose, fail too many times, you're gone."
