Maximus was no fool and followed her around, to see what she was doing and already knew that she was planning on leaving. But she wouldn't get far. Not with his guards lurking around. They were always guarding the manor and inside the house.
"The human is from the States." He spoke, from the door. "It's rare and not easy to persuade apes that don't want to be persuaded."
Maximus shook his head. "You see. That's going to be hard to do. Humans without collars, without an owner, could or would be shot on sight. You're lucky you're with me."

Eve was highly aware she was being trailed, as his large self, and heavy footfalls would be very clear. She glimpses once behind, noting he was quite close. She furrows her brows, trying to draw the obvious reason why she was. "I'm not going to destroy your things, why follow?" she smirks.
She turns around leaning against the wall. "I'd assume so, but wasn't very sure. You did mention it was the council's decision, so I figured she was. Has she been a pet her entire life? Perhaps she acted on instinct, in helping. Instead of being taught." She dips her head, smiling. "Yes, we have cared for others."
Of course, another reason why she couldn't be free. She wasn't going to give in. In time he'd probably get enough and holler. She still probably give in. She clicks her tongue. "Shot? Seems a little cold, doesn't?" she furrows her brows. "With you? I was fine getting away," she quietly adds."If you shoot humans with odd reasons, what insane roles do they have? I'm assuming as harsh."
She starts to look through the kitchen for a specific item.

Maximus continued to follow her around, observing, and keeping her within his sights. This human was walking around the kitchen looking for something. Unfortunately, the drawers were all locked. He had done it ever since obtaining a human. He wasn't going to leave her unattended. Not without a guard or himself.
"That's quite enough. You have explored the kitchen and the living room. I think it's time to see your room and that will be locked." He didn't trust her.

Eve clicks her tongue. Of course, they were locked, but why? There are no little children around, right? Eve didn't understand that part. She rises up, scratching her head, examining each locked space there was. Very strange this new place was. She steps back, about to venture to another room but was told to stop.
She turns around, furrowing her brows. Only two rooms. What's wrong with venturing in other sections of the massive home. This was a very strange customs that she clearly not used t to. It appears that they are more strict, not to mention, quite brutish.
She collides her hands behind her back, slowly reversing back. "Locks? Isn't that a little silly? There are no little children here," she mentions, taking a quick glance around. "Why have locks around?" She had noticed he completely ignored her other questions. Is that what it's going to be? SO be it. Don't answer hers, she won't answer his.

Maximus wasn't about to tell her that he had a human in a room. If he didn't have these locks on the doors or windows, he would be totally exposed. The only windows unlocked was his office window and bedroom window. Well, he didn't have to answer all her questions. It was his choice.
"Not at all silly to have locks on the windows and doors." He said. "It's for my protection and my humans'." He meant Aaron and Aurora. He wouldn't allow Aurora out freely. She wasn't to be trusted. He didn't trust this human because she was looking for things that she could use against him.

Eve quietly continues to reverse, perhaps she could go out the backdoor? Is that ever locked? Obviously he didn't get what she meant. Oh well, it happens. She was meaning a lock on her own door. Locks on windows? Possibly she could 'hack' it. Depends on the device. Though she never mastered the skill.
More humans?Just how many where there? She attempts to keep him distracted, but he was obviously brighter and sense such, let alone view it. Eh, why not try anyway?
"Makes very clear sense," she agrees. She does not belong here, and quietly would fight it. She stops for a moment. "You owe me a new lighter. I use that. That's what I was searching for in your kitchen, but you locked them all. What are you afraid of?"
She gradually continues. Even if she wanted to go back to freedom. There's no way she could survive the deadly jungles. She opens her palm from behind to snag the knob.

Maximus eased himself over to her, pressing a button on a counter and up came a monitor. "Well, I highly doubt you'll need a lighter. Because you won't have anything to worry about here. We would keep you safe, well fed, have a place to sleep, and you could pick your clothes and shoes. Basically you're well to do here." He attempted to brainwash. "Think, you'd have all the protection you need and not have to worry about the local wildlife out in the jungles."
Then he glanced at the monitor, it was showing all the items in the refrigerator and pantries. Luckily, he didn't have to go out and shop. He had apes that did that. He pressed several items on the monitor.
The knob she reached out for only led to the pantry. She'd get no where through that. It looked like a back door, but it wasn't.
He smirked. "Going somewhere, Eve?"

Eve winces. Ouch. Don't need one? Is this ape fearful of humans? She had no problems back at home. What's wrong with a lighter? She wasn't aware of how dangerous and foolish it can be. But she only used it in acts, mostly. She took a step back.
"Nothing to worry about?" She shakes her head. "What's wrong with a lighter? I use that." she clarifies. "What do you have against it?"
She glimpses over, "I don't want to keep safe. I enjoy taking risks, even daring to do the crazy. Without it, I'd cower with the things I enjoy." She shares, examining the selected items. She shakes her head. "I don't want protection, with that there's no taking risks."
She rose a brow, puzzled at the futuristic machine. She blinks a few times at the items. She bounces her eyes over to him. "I hope those are fresh, " she muffled.
She grins expecting him to catch. "Mm, tried to, " she responds in honestly. No reason to lie.

He took a step towards her as she stepped back. "I saw what you intended to do with the lighter. I witnessed you lighting up an ape with fire. So I am not dense or dumb as you think. However, you have no where to go. Have you noticed that you're completely surrounded and the guards would stop you before you even reached the fence outside." He knew humans and how sneaky they are.
"Of course all of my food is fresh. I wouldn't have it any other way." He pressed the button and the monitor slid down into the counter. It was already ordered and done.
"So you don't want to be safe and would rather take risks. Try leaving and see how far you go. You won't make out it out of the gates and the citizens don't take to humans running loose without an identification. Or a collar for that matter."
Then he grabbed her wrist, and gently urged her forward. "Do not attempt to trick me."

She noted his step closer, not to worry. She smirks, curling her arms behind her back. "But the fire is beautiful," she muffles, looking down at the ground for a moment. She elevated, bouncing her finger. "Hey, hey, I've never used flames as a weapon. Just recent. That ape was doing a death grip." she mentions in honestly.
She peers over as the device followed the order. She scrunches her eyebrows together. "I hope meals you create are by hand, and not out of that thing.." she glanced up.
She rolls her head back. "That's not a risk I would take. There are other ones out there." She shakes her head after lifting it. "I'm aware of the numerous patrols present. I'm not foolish," she smirks. "Besides, you mentioned it before. I have either."
She grasps his wrist. "I have no need too. " She drew back. "But I won't," she assured. "It might be better to free me," she uselessly implied again.

Maximus chuckled. "And dangerous." He wondered if she had something to do with the sabotage of the swifttwist trains. Well, there was no point in blaming a human for that. "And you are a fiery headed rare human." He hinted.
Then Maximus burst out laughing. "Me, eat bad food? No. That was an automated ordering. I have a delivery service that brings food to my door. But fortunately, you wish to leave hurriedly and not stick around for dinner." He shook his head as she was insistent on leaving freely.
"Well, go ahead and try Firehead. Try to leave. See how far you get with my guards. Go on." He urged, and taunted. Teased even. He waited patiently for her to make a move. "Go on, Firehead."
Then a servant walked into the kitchen and reported, "The human's quarters are prepared."

"Depends who's controlling it," she informs, smirking. She knew by this time he was not going to provide for her loving lighter. Seems she has to use a different tactic to bring forth nature's destruction. She snickers. "Depends where," she logically mentions. "Each country has their rare preference."
She rolls her head, sighing. "Uh, huh," she muffles, looking back to him. "That's still not made fresh by hand," she mentions, looking over to the machinery. "I prefer to go hunting. My favorite is a black swan. hehe, you probably think it's sickening," she smirks.
She darkly grins, shaking her head. "Mmm," she hummed, surveying around. She easily detected an increased number of patrols. Are any of these apes in the bathrooms too? Yikes. Talk about no privacy. Sure it's for his protection. But, seriously, he can't defend himself.
She hears the announcement. She peers over then back to Maximus. She leans closer, whispering, "if I ever attempt, it will be when you least expect it," she assured, standing back up. "Why do it now, taunter?"

Maximus didn't trust a human that was interested in fire. "You don't need fires in the middle of summer unless you're out in the jungles. No weapons, no lighter, nothing is given to human pets. Give up." He urged.
"Oh we do eat meat." He smirked. "We harvest meat from a plant, fattening them up." He was only threatening. "They're so delicious, but bony. We use their ribs for barbecue ribs."
He continued to smirk. "Not made by hand?" He then educated her. "You never heard of bringing groceries and I make my own food by my hand or my servants." He noticed she wasn't really moving to escape. "Well, I guess you will not be joining me for dinner tonight. So off to bed with you then." He gestured to two patrols and the servant.
They gripped her arms and took her to the bedroom.
Maximus smirked. "You'll learn eventually."

She smirks, shaking her head. "Mmm, you don't understand them," she bluntly affirms. "Ha! I won't give in."
Eve wasn't sure what he was meaning, other than a farm with meat. She grips the edge of the counter, leaning forward. "Umm, I've never directly been to one, just aware. Nope, our meat is from the highland animals, sometimes they are in corrals," she explains her side. She rose a brow, standing straight. "I didn't say otherwise."
She rolls her eyes, shaking her head. "Pah, I have, we, well I go for hunting rather than using your odd, lazy machines," she snorts. "At times were out for days, waiting. Mm, your stature is weird," she implies.
She shrugs as if it not bothering. "NAh, nothing new I've been on days in the wicked winters, waiting on animals," She glances over to the patrols. "Just don't starve a human to long, they view any creature as a meal."
She brings both her arms close, then pauses. No, she wasn't going to escape that time. "Learn what? Can't teach something that doesn't want to learn."

"Oh sure I do, Firehead." He walks closer, almost intimidating. "Let me tell you what you would do. Firstly, you would obtain a lighter...then find something to start a fire in my mansion- drapes, paper, newspaper, whatever you can find that will catch on fire. Then you'd be leaving while my patrols and guards rush to get everyone out." He was not foolish. "And we'd be distracted that you'd escape." He scoffed, "So much for your understanding of a meat plant. And I intend to give you a nice meal in your room."
He wouldn't really starve a human. Not at all unless it was for a punishment. But he had no reason to punish Firehead. Not just yet anyway. "Oh you'll learn..your kind always do learn their place."
