Unfortunately, Eve was quite daunted to the point she inconsiderably cowered into his shadow. He naturally was freighting with his massive structure. She rose a finger, opening her mouth trying to imply But he kept on going and going. The dubious act she would do to escape.
She rose her palms, annoyed from the false accusations. "No, no." she took a step back. "I never use nature's enemy for destruction. No, I play with it," she informs, dropping her hands. "Why use it that way?"
She rolls her eyes, puffs once. "I just explained it. If you don't like that description then okay," she drifts her eyes
An intent grimace appears on her face. The thought of food sickened her. She swings her head briefly. "No, thanks. I've lost my appetite," she answered, despite the very long hours with no source of food. She was accustomed to it anyway. "Don't bring it, it will only get wasted."
She frowns. "I had place."

Maximus wasn't sure whether to believe her or not. "Hmm. Maybe you would do better as a show human." He said, stroking his chin. Then he noticed that she was cowering. "Well, if you play with fire, it will surely burn you." He said, matter of fact. He didn't know about humans playing around with fire. So she wasn't hungry and food wouldn't go to waste.
Maximus chuckled. "Very well."
There was no denying that she did have a place once. "In your country. But here, you're better off with me than out there. Trust me for once." He gave her a little smile. "I'm more likely to be on your side than Kratos or Zaius." He explained. "And you are not a renegade."

Eve grimaces at the thought of being in the shows for humans. Gag. Talk about a pampered poodle in its elegant coat. Her head shakes, "gah, anything but a show pet," she winces. Unfortunately, little did she know that a perform pet was classified as a show pet here.
She was only cowering when he stepped forth, and the upper light enhanced his terrifying height. She removes her tight sleeves, revealing quite the number of burn marks. "Sometimes you fail, but you can't have one mistake stop you." she scrolls up her sleeves.
She rose a brow. Trust him? Pah. "I don't trust you, and I'm sure you have the same feelings," she answerers. "I don't know who they are. I know nothing of this country, other than the different terrain," she looks back. "Renegade? I've never met one," she informs.
"You know your guards don't have to drag me, I can follow. I don't plan to escape tonight." Or was she?

Maximus went on, "A show pet is a pet who is pampered and only used for show. However, there are 'good' things that come with having skills that no other human has." He looked down at her arms, noticing how many times she's failed. "Takes a lot of practice and skill to try not to harm yourself. Dancing with fire is always a risky business. Failure can also result in death."
He noticed that this human was still cowering from his height. His size was intimidating and he wasn't intending to do that. He hadn't really showed any sign to harm her and a distrust was in her eyes. He gave a sigh. "Then, you can go..since you don't trust me and my guards won't stop you." Which an order could be given not to pursue.
He thought about telling her about renegades, but decided against it. "I won't keep you. Your choice whether to stay or whether to go. I was going to let you go in the morning."

Eve scratches her head. A show pet is the same thing as a performing pet, here? That's quite unusual. Each place is different from the last. If that wasn't a little disturbing, Maximus finally realizing what she did for a passion, that was weird. She didn't deny it.
"A show the same as performing? Interesting," she rubs her chin. There was no point in arguing why or if he was wrong. She simply went along with it. "It might just be nice to not keep performing to your kind on command, but when I'd like to," she mentions, but likely be turned down.
She furrows her brows, listening, yet in high disbelief. What was this ape planning? Perhaps if she ran quick enough she could get away? She decided to stall a bit.
"You don't trust me, and I have clear rights why I shouldn't you," she clarifies. She slowly descends from the steps, turning over to the door. She sluggishly heads over. "I rather go now," she mentions, grasping the door, even testing to see if they would follow after exiting.
After exiting a moment, she returns. She rests against the door, sighing. "Go? I have nothing to go to." She mentions, heading up the stairs to the room she was assigned to. But didn't know where.

"Both are pretty much the same profession here. We just use different terms." Unless they did things so much differently than any other country. "That's because if you don't do it when they say, things happen. Punishment isn't a good thing to face especially when you're a show pet to an owner who only sees profits."
Maximus watched her carefully. He allowed her to leave at her own accord. He would prove to her she did have no where else to go and he smirked when she realized that she did. But he wasn't as cruel to pet humans. He just didn't like them all that much because they were disrespectful and rude. He looked over her and figured she'd find her room.
The servant hurriedly followed after her instead of him. "Your room is on the second story. Come." He urged her forward to the staircase.

Aaron was, at the time, in the same hallway. He blinked in surprise and looked at her curiously. "Hi! I'm Aaron." He knew the difference between pets and ape-raised humans. "You have nice red hair." He was friendly, yet childish at times. "I'm Maximus' ape-raised apprentice. I think my room is next to yours."

Eve nods understanding how it couldn't be clearer. "sounds about right. Just different terms, but meaning the same thing." She winces as Maximus continues to explain. Well, that's a little harsh. Though he had spoken the truth. "Bah!" she sways her hands. "Wouldn't be first, and unlikely the last. She grits her teeth. I'll do it for a show, not profits," she growls.
She lifts a hand to Maximus, "don't even," she grits her teeth, venturing up the steps. She didn't need it shoved into her face, nor a snobbish outburst. Gah. What an awful situation. "I don't need to hear it," she shortly responds after arriving on the most top step.
She eases down, listening to the servant scurry behind. She sighs, quite flustered already. "I'm sure I can find it," she quietly mentions, continuing all. She'd follow after despite her rebellion.
She listens, bouncing her alerted eyes over to Aaron. She rolls her sleeves completely up. A brow rose. "Hello," she muffles, turning to the door. Another pet? Wouldn't be surprised. She froze her hand on the doorknob. "Thank you, Aaron," she responds, entering, though left the door open. "Why would he have both varieties next to each other? I thought ape-raised were higher regard," she smirks, walking more.

"I wouldn't be asking to perform for profits, but other apes may, if you are captured, brought to the cages, and sold to an ape that does not have your best interests at heart." He told her once more. It was a likely outcome to her. "Or, the new owner may not use your skills or care about your skills. They may use you as a laboratory experiment."
As she left, he heard a cheerful, bright voice of Aaron. He rubbed his head. He was wandering the halls as usual. He sat down at his desk, thinking about his apprentice.
Aaron was surprised. "Oh. I picked my own room and it just happened to be down this hall. I always believe that it doesn't matter where ones room is in the house. Besides, you won't do anything to me. Besides, I'm pretty much allowed anywhere. Do you want a book to read or you can also watch TV. He won't complain." He said, as friendly as possible. "I got a few books you can read if you can't sleep." He offered.

Eve nods, observing the fancy surroundings. She glances back up at Maximus. "I didn't think you would do that. You're already pretty well off," she mentions.
She winced. Bah, why can't she back into her comfortable life? It seems fate had an altered path.
She shakes her head, with a scratch behind her neck. "Then it might be better to keep the skills hidden until I discover their real intent." Her grimace increased. "I thought that was a myth," she mutters. "A tactic used to scare humans into obeying."
She drops her hand, tilting her head. "Why are you trying to help me? You seemed to dislike humans."
"Oh? Do you like the view from certain heights?" she calmly questions, peering over her shoulder at him. She turns around leaning against the closest wall. "I have no need to harm my own kind unless they attack first," she clarifies, looking down at the items in his grasp.
She smirks, looking back up. "Free Roam? He, I doubt I have it at the moment." Books? Why not. She kindly nods, "yes. Have any on SciFi fantasy?"

"I am." He said in affirmative. He had a manor and hardly any other humans as pets or any apes as children. He relied heavily on his governmental status and how he could pull some strings without involving Kratos or Zaius. "I am doing it because you are a rare human with red hair and a talent. Also, I'm one of the Council who does not see eye to eye with the children pet trade." He sighs. "Which is why I'm allowing humans in my manor- to hide out from the patrols. I'm giving you some 'rights' despite how humans don't have any. Plus, Zephram is not happy himself, having his office buzzing with calls and he's not having any luck persuading Kratos that the child pet trade is a problem." Maximus rarely ever talked about this to any human. But children as pets was pushing the humans into extinction. "The future of your kind is on a see-saw, teetering with the sterility plague and a new sickness at large that is - worrisome."
Aaron smiled and gave her a smile. "I have Harry Potter, 2001 A Space Odyssey, Dragonriders of Pern, and these." He walked into his room and pulled out his collection of stories for her to pick. "Pick as many as you want." He had plenty of books to read.

That's the only reason, because of her natural features, and skill? There has to be than that. She scratches her neck, wincing at other possible reasons. Was he bluffing to form a false bond for something he can gain? Or was he serious in his words?
Pet trade? young children? What kind of bizarre place was this? She drops her hand. "If you think that's bad, you should see parts of the world. ANy age pet, no ape-raised, equals as apes, even the same rights. Each place is different," she explains. "Even ape-raised mix with pet, statuses."
She continues to naturally listen. Each point, even statement, was correct. In fact, worried her. She grimaces, furrowing her brows. "You're not keeping humans inside your manor to breed, and help replenish, are you?" ***
Eve glances down at the foreign titles. None of them brought interest to her. She sighs, following for a fair distance. When he revealed other books, she examined them. She quietly takes a few. "Thank you. These ones look intriguing," she mentions walking back to the room. She left the door open. She sets the stories down but one. She takes that with her to the window to read.

Maximus shook his head. "Not really into breeding humans. There is a plague that struck them. So- it's rare to breed humans." He finally answered her. "You may go to your room now. I have things to do."
Aaron was delighted that she picked some titles. "You're welcome. I hope you enjoy them."
Then he walked into his room and closed the door. He began to read one of his favorites.

Eve didn't argue that point and simply allowed him to do what he needed to attend what he required. He was highly correct, but some were immune. Did it affect the entire world, though? Perhaps some parts of the globe it did? She only thought for a moment on the matter. **
It didn't take long to read a certain title. While she was reading through the chapters, a wicked idea came into her mind. Without even thinking of knocking, she opened his door, rushing in. She grasps his arm to force attention on her.
"Aaron, I have an idea but I need your help. You've heard of the obnoxious laws on the children, right? So, let's go scorch down some districts, after letting them loose," she draws away. "Though getting out of here might be a joke unless you know?"

Aaron was taken aback and looked at her. "Oh. I do know of a secret way out of here. I was exploring while the apes were busy and Maximus was away. It's this way." He believed she was playing a game of some sort and he was game for it.
"Ok. Let's do that! Sounds fun and cool." Not knowing what type of trouble he'd get into because hell? He was trying to have fun. "We set them free from those districts? How?"
He was already liking the idea of having some fun for the night. Maybe even smoking up some marshmallows. "I hope we don't get caught though."

Maximus was about to check on Aaron to see if he was ready for bed. His hearing caught a proposed plan and he slowly opened the door. He stood in the door frame and crossed his arms. His bulk prevented escape. "Planning an excursion tonight? I think not. I rarely use violence on ape-raised humans. But I think I will teach you a lesson." He shakes his head at Eve. "As for you."
"You will return to your room immediately." He ordered. "Or I'll force you into a cage for the night." He glared at her as he slid aside and two bodyguards filed into the room and grabbed Eves' arms. They dragged her out. "You are forbidden from contact, Aaron. Make note: You are ape-raised. If you attempt to do anything contrary to your training as an ape-raised human, you will end up like Maxwell. And I don't think you'll like that. At all!" He was furious. "Lock her up in her room."
He looked as the guards took Eve back to her room, locking her up. For the night.
