She anxiously smiles over at him, then down to the ground. "I was raised by apes, then I was trained to be a pet after a certain age," she honestly explains. "So, I'm kinda both."
"Oh, ha, about that," she muffles, lightly stuttering she couldn't even truly smile. She winces as she placed a poor excuse. "Uh, I, well kinda snapped at your threats and demands. Besides, I was going out to blast that district with children, after releasing them," her voice gradually became quiet at the end.
"Ah, of course," she drops her head. "That building really needs to burn. So wrong and foolish your laws are. So strict and cold." She listens further. "Ah, so more labelled as a dog now."
Eve didn't complain once after being placed into the cage. She wasn't picky, nor wanting more. She easily accepts what she has at the moment. She turns over to the girl. She didn't say anything, so Eve didn't respond.

Maximus replied, "Because you acted like a wild human. I was trying to treat you like an ape-raised human. Instead, you decided to be a 'pet'." He sighed as leaned against a wall. "I'm working on that law." He said. "I'm against it the whole thing about children being pets. It makes an impressionable child into a slave. Then they'll become depressed and sad while their owners are happy. Meanwhile, the child loses their 'child-hood' because they'll be focusing on one thing and one thing only. Keeping their owners happy through a facade."
He was aware of the detrimental effects of children in the pet-trade. Zaius and Kratos were all for it. But not him. He was siding with Zephram. Sometimes not. But Zephram was right. It would be pursuing a path that no one would be able to stop until the last human was extinct.
Maximus had no choice but to put her into the cage. The human that had went to sleep, woke up and looked at her. She looked at her. "Hello."

Aaron ventured downstairs to where the pets were kept. He walked over to the cages and considered how to open the cages. "Hello. I'm here to try to break you both out." He said, examining Eve's lock and the other human. He was going to risk it. He already had a bad day as it was. It couldn't get much worse, could it? He glanced towards Eve.

Eve was amused at this country's own laws. This ape was breaking his own laws, how humorous! She didn't rub it in, as the two were in agreement to the crucial law. Then again, any human would be that way. She leans against the wall. She listens to his truthful accusations. Little harsh isn't.
"I am wild," she quietly whispers the truth. He basically stated her as nothing with no identity, family or owner. Quite harsh. It didn't bother her. He was taking away her desires to enjoy her trained talents, and that's what really flared her craziness.
Her head shakes, clicking her tongue, removing herself from the wall. "Clearly you're not gaining enough apes to agree to you. You can't just do one." She looks over at Aaron. "Then again your country fails cooperation." ---
Eve darkly smiles when Aaron had entered. She was chewing on her long 'claws' when he entered. "Ah, break us out, where will we go? I agree to leave this dreary place," she crawls over, helping him figure out the lock. "Use slippery substance of you need to," She suggests. "What does he use all these pets down here anyway? Seems like he forgets them and leaves them to his workers."

Maximus seemed to have crossed his big arms across his chest, in thought. He was a council member after all. The ape council were so set in their ways that they wouldn't change some of those laws. He began to ponder the legality of all these laws. Kratos broke so many already by 'absolving' the 'law' regarding 'children' and that many villages had deemed children 13 years and up adults. However, if they were adults, they would be 'doing adult things' such as finding a mate, learning how to run a household, and the responsibility of their new family. Maximus had been unsuccessful in convincing Kratos otherwise. The children would become 'slaves' to their race. There would be no more pets.
He looked at Eve when she said she was wild. "Wild or not." Maximus said. "You said you were apart of someone's family. So that means that you may have been- a well cherished human." Fortunately, Eve would actually see a much softer side too. "I won't report you to the authorities nor take action against a human who has a talent." The talents of humans were entertaining.

Aaron was positive that he could break them both out and did exactly what she said to do. He knew one ape. "We go to @melody." He said. "She's a great ape and won't sell us out." He knew her by researching. But he was also about to get into trouble. He smiled at her and his smile faltered, "I don't know what he does with them. Maybe showing off."
He released the lock on her cage and the other one. "I know that the council member named Zaius is scary and you shouldn't try him. He practically tortured a human while I was in his manor. When I tried to prove a point- he got mad at me. I was nervous and began to wonder if I should continue to apprentice with them or not." He finally said, as his doubts emerged. "I don't know if I'm actually a good ape-raised human to these apes."
It seemed his doubt was playing a role on his decisions.

Quietly Eve listens to Maximus, then he delved into deep thought. She smirks, very curious on what he was pondering about. Why couldn't things just be simple here? She had a few variety of thoughts to herself.
She smirks at his partially correct answer. She clicks her tongue. "Bah!" she sways her hand. "Treated back and forth. Come now, do you really believe an ape would allow such acts in their homes, plus, what would happen if...it burned?"
She leans closer, gripping his chin, gently wiggling it. "Such a silly, gullible ape." She draws back after releasing. She snorts. "You're too soft." ___
She grimaces, quite disgusted. "Really? That's it? Shown and forgotten.. much like a family heirloom," she easily slips through. Gripping the top bars as she slithers out. She stops, and looks around.
"It's not fair to them, come on, let's release them all." She trails over to the first one that greeted her.
She sighs, glancing back over. "Why would you want council under them? You're the adult, respected from their kind... Well, so they say."

Maximus slowly unfolded his arms. He could 'humor' her. "Things aren't always 'easy' here." He spoke, as if he had picked up on her thoughts. He couldn't believe he was holding a conversation with an animal. But he had a different perspective on some matters. He is a council member and his views were different than the others. The more he learned about humans and the way they were thinking, he considered that they were 'smart' but not 'too smart'. Most not educated in the Central City School. Then he remembered Elisabeth, her signing, and her lip-reading, and her 'smarts' stemmed from being educated outside Central City school. She didn't consider herself an 'animal'. She held herself in a manner and hadn't really meant to create so much trouble. At some points, he noticed that she had kept asking for her hearing back. She kept asking every ape...and it seemed they had been ignoring her or just not listening to her. Had Nikita noticed or heard the request?
He considered her talents and they would pose a danger to his manor. Of which, he didn't feel like explaining to authorities that 'his manor burned down' from a human. What would it do? Would it gain any advantage or disadvantage. "Well," he finally intoned after what seemed like a few minutes. "I believe any and all talent carries a risk. Especially fire walking, or playing with fire." Then he soon added, "There's always options. You have two options to choose from. Either- you stay with me or you'll go to prison for attempted 'arson'. The authorities would believe an ape over a human." He reminds. "I'm soft because you haven't really tried any foolish thing."
-0-
Aaron shrugged. "Possibly. I've seen his staff come down here all the time when I'm here. I ventured down here to see that there are humans here. I don't know how long he's had them. They all seem well-cared for and looked after. Maybe he's hiding them from apes." Aaron likened to believe that Maximus, despite hating humans, had been buying humans secretly.
The first human leaped over to the door. She was about to launch into a triad of questions, but stopped. If she began to talk, it would draw attention.
"I had only two choices," He said, releasing a young teenager about 15. He was silent as he stepped out of the cage. "they were to apprentice under an ape or go to the jungle and get captured. My status of an ape-raised human would be wiped clean from the slate." He hoped she would understand. "I picked apprenticing under Zaius and Maximus both. I felt they were both good teachers." He had a smile and then it faltered into a frown. "While at Zaius' manor, I found out he likes to torture 'humans'." He gulped. "I thought he'd do the same with me if I ever admitted any thing. Like helping humans or talking to them. He would call me a traitor and send me 'for a trial'?" Aaron suddenly shivered. "I've already been to the prison before because Kratos believed I was this other human. I spent the next day trying to figure out how not to tell Zaius about that. Would you want a 'jail-bird' as an apprentice? If you were an ape?" He didn't know the answer to that one. But he was sure it would be a 'No'.

Well, Eve could have easily stated that. Since being present here, even listening to Maximus and others within earshot only opened up to her what occurs in this city. Highly more savage then where she originally lived.
"I see, " she bluntly responds, very little to nothing on his statement. She calmly shrugs, "so be the change, " she blandly suggests, pretty firm on the belief he will not. These Overlords appear the same as another.
Eve, plus the majority of humans were sharp, just mainly not in certain situations or things. It depends. Her recent doing was entirely foolish.
However, her mind was branded on freeing humans and burning the districts. Just, not at the moment. Maximus had already been fumed at the scheme and would be likely to observe her.
It seemed silent between the two for a while. The inaudible evolved into awkwardness. She drops her eyes down to her dirty shoes, and black pants. She sighs.
She perked an ear towards Maximus's sudden voice. She swoops her gaze up to him. She smirks, responding to his truthful opinion, "you fear easily, " she utters.
She darkly snickers, "you have no proof of such, " she adds, "nothing foolish? I see." ---
Eve gradually lifted her brow, displaying a 'are you serious' expression. It didn't take long before she swiped her sights on the humans. "Well cared? Yes, with no sunlight and only to mingle by voice."
She sighs, "let's just free them," she quietly pleaded, venturing to free a few, then flipped back to protect the humans from fleeing out. She swung her arms up. "Not yet," she firmly informs, "one goes, you'll alert those brawny apes. If all of us go, we have a higher chance to escape."
"This is insane, " she utters, still blocking as the numbers grew.
She was aware of the rules of being an ape-raised human. It mimics hers back at home. She frowns, "I wonder if they'll ever change it."
She snorts, shaking her head, "these overlords here are cruel."
She froze, at a loss of words. This human sure has endured the harsh realities of the dark sides of apes. She clicks her tongue. "Then let me shove you into a cage to have you innocent," she suggests, then adds, "you can say I 'swooned' you."

Maximus shook his head, "Do you truly see what this city is like?" He raised a finger. "It's not like the one you came from. It's much more different. More stricter laws, rules, and regulations regarding humans. They have no rights here. I'm sure that if you go into another country, it is the same elsewhere." He rubbed his head with his hand. "It's complicated and you aren't well versed in the matters of the council. We keep you humans as pets and slaves. You'd have a better life with me than any circus." He was sure that some of the human performers were worked til they sustained injuries.
He glanced over to her and crossed his arms. "You haven't realized that little escapes me."
Aaron helped a little to help the other humans escape. To him, he was only doing what he thought he was right. But then he thought about the Council Members. He gulped and knew that he would be in a heap of trouble. "I guess." He wasn't sure what it was going to prove. He liked to help Eve further, but if he was seen helping other members of his own species, he'd be downgraded to an ape's pet. He didn't want to become an ape's pet. "I don't want to become an ape's pet. I'd disappoint my guardian."
He looked around and said, "Last cage." He said, walking towards the last cage. It was the only option to him. "When they discover me, I can come up with a lie."

"I view this flipped over 'enclosure' as what I see fit," she muffles, clipping her fingertips on her earlobe, grimacing. She sighs, this can't be right." She remains to be astonished. How could these apes in this city to have the humans, a low-intelligence that would gradually decline?
"Mine don't, but the country I was reared from does enslave humans, just had the ability to earn their freedom." She rose a small finger, smirking with silent glee, "that special human would have been freed." She shrugs, "not here, sadly."
She placed her palms on her hips, tilting her head. "You seem confused, you either are for humans or not. Make up your mind, you either agree to these ridiculous laws." Curiously she takes a few steps closer. "You don't agree with humans being slaves, the evidence is shimmering in your eyes." She steps back, grinning, "I'll be either."
"We'll see. Can't have your attention on all," with that, she winks. ___
"Mm, but you've been proven to instinctively help your kind, I can view it in your actions," she muffles, as she aided the humans to their desired freedom. It wasn't much, but it was the beginning. Kindly she settles her palm on his shoulder, caressing a smile, "don't worry."
She couldn't allow him to be in the cage without any injuries, it's just too suspicious. Coldly she kicks him in the head, hard enough for him to bash into the bars."

Maximus
"I actually tried to 'get Elisabeth' free rights. Despite the main speaker's objections. He wouldn't budge." He finally said. "Sadly, it doesn't always exist here in the state. The state needs to change, but won't. It's complicated. You have three council members. One takes the side of the humans, the other doesn't. It was a two to one vote. None of those two council members never vote yes to free one single human pet. One. Her act of bravery saved a lot of apes and humans from a certain death."
Maximus paused to think about the way they did lock their human pets up. "You'd murder apes when we'd sleep. Humans aren't stupid. But they think they'll get anywhere with the guards and police force out there. There's also no way you'd make it out of the city alive. As these apes view humans lesser than they." He explains, believing that this human was 'animal smart'. Her intelligence was- like a crafty sly fox.
"Fortunately for you I'm much better as an ape owner than most. I don't beat humans for being human." He reminds. "I don't believe in beating to make a point. I only discipline humans in the council if they are criminals."
-0-
"I would help my friends and others if needed." He finally admitted and hoped that things would go forward the way they're supposed to." He was standing near the last cage and nodded. He hadn't ever been kicked in the head, but it was hard enough for him to go down, into the cage, bashing into the bars. As if he had been betrayed by her.
Everything went black.
